Kansas City COVID Economy Killed The Roasterie

In the aftermath of the pandemic consumers no longer have the cash to afford pricey java. And the legacy of the ongoing plague has frightened people away from wasting time inside coffee shops.

A quick round-up of the slew of shut downs confronting a local coffee juggernaut . . .

The Roasterie’s Corrigan Station café closes Wednesday.

The café at 4223 Main St. in Kansas City closed March 31.

As for the café at Lenexa Public Market, (new owner) FairWave opted not to renew the lease.

Here's the corporate PR presser excuse that doesn't account for a HUGE drop in demand for this local trend . . .
