KANSAS CITY COUNTRY CLUB PLAZA NIKE STORE SHUTS DOWN!!!

An iconic and "woke" brand pulls out of the premier Kansas City entertainment district after a year of social justice protest, pandemic shut downs and ongoing marches nearly every weekend.

The biz decision is apt but let's not forget that Nike is a progressive brand and a champion of a myriad of social issues. They're a multi-billion-dollar corporate leader dedicated to social change amid a cultural shift.  

Sadly, all of that didn't really help sell cheaper shoes via an outdated retail model.

Nike store on Country Club Plaza closes

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Nike store on the Country Club Plaza is closed. It closed on Sunday, according to a voicemail recording 41 Action News heard upon trying to call the store. Additionally, the location is no longer listed on the or websites.

  3. I'm sure there's a plan to replace it with some local restaurant or business. That's the way that that plaza needs to go. Buy local and help people with small businesses set up shops!

  4. The Plaza and Westport are in their final death throes thanks to Quinton Lucas who has almost single-handedly destroyed KCMO. The man is a psychopath. Time to move to a red city where manners, civility and law and order are prioritized.
