The aftermath of a recent dead body report . . .
Late this afternoon, the victim in this case was officially identified by investigators as Gilberto Gutierrez w/m 12-09-1968 who was reported missing on 05-11-21. This case is being investigated as a homicide. Detectives are still working to determine what led up to the victim‘s death. There is no additional information that can be released at this time.
Anyone with information is urged to call our Homicide Unit at 816-234-5043 or the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-TIPS. There is up to a $25,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case.

KCPD says body found near 56th Terrace, Elmwood Monday was missing man
Kansas City police said a body found Monday morning outside of a home near 56th Terrace and Elmwood Avenue has been identified as a man reported missing last week.Gilberto Gutierrez, 52, was reported missing May 11. He was last seen that day at 2 p.m. at his farm near Bannister Road and View High Drive.
