Shawnee Mission School District retains mask requirement, despite protest

SHAWNEE MISSION, Kan. - Unlike other school districts in the metro, the Shawnee Mission School District will continue to require students and staff members to wear masks in school until the end of the year. The subject prompted parents and community members to gather outside of the Shawnee Mission Center for Academic Achievement on Monday ahead of the district's board of education meeting.
