TKC NEWSFLASH!!! MISSION GATEWAY STILL STALLED FOREVER!!!

Two things we learned today . . .

The jalapeno popper salad at Wendy's is not to be trifled with AND . . .

CURSED MISSION GATEWAY ABANDONED AT START OF CONSTRUCTION SEASON!!!

Whilst Prez Biden free money seems to be restarting a great deal of road improvement across the metro, we didn't notice ANY activity at the height of the work day.

Letter news outlets have reported . . .

"Several key Mission Gateway entities remain onboard with the $225 million mixed-use project, even as it appears poised to remain in a rut at the former Mission Center Mall site for the time being. "This includes Cinergy Entertainment, which looks to become the largest tenant by square footage, with a 90,000-square-foot complex featuring a dine-in movie theater, a bowling alley, and a mix of electronic and non-electronic games, developer Tom Valenti of New York-based Cameron Group LLC told Mission City Council members Oct. 21."

Sadly, there's not much evidence of work at the location as April quickly turns into May.

  2. This fiasco needs to be turned into The Kansas Stonehenge.
It's already a ruin of historic proportions.
Another "developer" with big big dreams and ZERO money.
The taxpayers in Mission must be mighty proud of the electeds that made the original decisions about this joke.

  5. Back in 1992 Mission Mall was booming, Garden Cafe, jewelry stores. Victoria Secrets but Mission Ks ruined it all by having heavy handed cops and enforcing a "Pew Tax" on Churches - yes thats true- churches had to pay a tax based on how many people could fit into a pew each day the church was used. It was later thrown out by the supreme court! Mission has God's vengence on it

  6. The Mission Mall was nice. With that huge white wall they could put in a drive in theater, with swap meets on Sunday.

  7. ^^^^ Damn good idea. And sunflowers can go in the empty spaces.
Dog park is good too. These are all decent solutions.

  8. Mission sucks, its the Independence of Johnson county. The militarized police only care about speeding tickets, the city doesn't check or enforce zoning laws, and animal control is non-existent. The demographic is mostly obnoxious blue collar jerks or apartment rats.
