TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! 12TH & OAK FUNDING FOR KANSAS CITY HOMELESS FREEBIES EXCEEDS 5 MILLION BUCKS & COUNTING!!!

The largess of Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas bestowed upon homeless protesters has now reached historic proportions.

A not so fun fact worth repeating . . .

KANSAS CITY SPENDING ON THE HOMELESS SURPASSES 5 MILLION BUCKS IN 2021 SO FAR!!!

That's not counting the Winter warming shelter and a half a million bucks tagged to last year's budget.

We'll do the math for the skeptics . . .

Earlier this month KCMO agreed to put up as many as 500 people in hotel rooms for three months.

This week the owner of the Econo-lodge off Armour Rd. spilled the beans and confirmed that City Hall had locked in at a lavish rate of 100 bucks a night for hotel rooms requisitioned for the homeless.

100 dollars a night for 500 people over the course of 90 days comes to 4.5 million bucks.

But we're just getting started . . .

Kansas City is also helping to fund food for the homeless.

And let's not forget job training, drug counseling and social work services offered.

There's also this week's cost of relocation after damage to the hotel rooms.

And now . . . A tiny home permanent residence might add to the price tag.

Not to worry. Prez Biden's free money is picking up the tab for now but this expensive giveaway is raising alarm bells amongst more financially conscientious members of council.

Here's a quick quote send our way after we confirmed some of these numbers . . .

"Yeah, we're basically burning money taking care of a small group of homeless protesters. Never mind that we've got hundreds more people on the street who might need help that we can spread around. Nobody seems to care because of the $195-MILLON that we're getting from the feds but that money is not 'free' by any stretch of the imagination.

We're supposed to be using those funds for COVID relief and to help workers, home owners and people who have lost their jobs because of the pandemic.

I don't want to be cruel to the homeless but I think we're more than meeting our obligation to them and we need to make sure there are enough resources to go around. At this rate, we'll run out of cash quickly and won't get any return on our investment."

  2. Over 5 million dollars could’ve fixed a lot of streets and pipes.....

Instead lickass creates a homeless problem so he can add it to his list of accomplishments (failures) for his senate run. I hope people are recording these things to show the whole state of Missouri what a loser and failure he’s been for kc, if he were to become senator, he would ruin missouri with his childish thinking.

Think about it, lickass can’t get potholes fixed so how is he supposed to take care of an entire state, and then there’s the I hate the police thing, Jesus Christ he would cut the highway patrol in half and crime would go up 1000%

    No thanks.

  3. The "return on investment" is that we're getting people off the street and helping them turn their lives around. KC is saving lives and turning people in the right direction. You cannot put a price tag on that. We are making the city a better and more equitable place. I don't expect you haters to understand that but it's the truth. Shame on you for being so selfish!

  4. Speaking of potholes, have you seen superior bowman asphalt companies street repairs on cleaver Blvd? I can’t believe how bad they are, it’s like driving over speed bumps it’s that bad, they stick up about an inch above the street, do yourself a favor and find an alternate route to avoid permanent damage to your car, it’s terrible.

Hard to believe that a professional asphalt company could fuck up the streets that bad.

  8. One dollar homes.... there’s a reason they are giving these away for a dollar, if they were worth saving to begin with they wouldn’t be giving them away amirite!

I looked at these houses that the city owns for a couple years and they need three times as much money to fix them as they are worth. You gotta ask yourself one thing, if the owner let the house go for back taxes and then nobody bought it off the court house steps then they aren’t worth saving. They’re either burned beyond repair, they have so many holes in them the water damage is beyond repair or they are in the worst most violent and murderous neighborhoods than you can imagine.

  9. 5:18 has a point. And how much return on investment are we getting on all the TIFs and other giveaways to developers?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Maybe they should pay back all those city employees that had to give up paychecks to help the city get through the plandemic shut down, those people got screwed big time. Those employees and their families had to make huge sacrifices, many of those employees make half as much many as the politicians at city hall and the mayor and clowncil didn’t give up one cent for their high paying part time jobs.

    ReplyDelete
  11. 5:41 the return is our taxes have to go up for the lack of taxes the rich developers don’t pay, Ive been saying this for years, if we are such a great upcoming vibrant, hip and happening city then why do we have to bribe and pay big bucks for developers to come here, you’d think if we were all that they would be spending their own money and be willing to pay the taxes to be here don’t you think?

It’s all an illusion with the mayor and his talking in circles, if you listen to him talk he never says anything, he tries real hard to act and look smart but all that ever happens is the taxpayers get screwed.

  12. With all the benefits available, why not just remain homeless? Sounds like it might end up being an economically advantageous decision, compared to working all day for a starting wage and getting no free housing, food, social services, or sympathy. Co-dependency feels good when you can use other people's money.

    ReplyDelete
  13. This isn't about compassion or caring.
And it certainly isn't about helping people "turn their lives around".
There are already many dozens of programs and organizations available to homeless people if they would help themselves by helping people already trying to move them in a different direction.
But Lucas's harebrained "efforts" are nothing more than an utter lack of understanding of what city government is about and his role in it, a priority of celebrity and endless publicity for himself, and the cowardice of never being able to tell individuals or groups "NO".
"Negotiating" with the "leader" of a "homeless union"?
You've really got to be kidding!

  15. Those tiny homes for the homeless? $10k a piece. Damages to the hotels? Still unknown. They destroyed everything they could at Bartle every night. They fixed it every day. Destroyed every night. AND, Federal money is a hope, not a guarantee. They will have to show that the homeless problem is Covid related. That we didn't have homeless before Covid. Lucas makes Biden look like a spin thrift.

While furloughing city staff, not filling vacancies and killing pay raises.

  16. But yet KC can't fix the streets. Perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  17. A better use would have been to purchase $2 million worth of vacant land (anywhere from 300 to 500 acres) and then spend $3 million on fences, cots, metal buildings, rudimentary plumbing, food, and guards.

And quietly, over time, bus the residents to LA, SF, Portland, DC, and NYC.

When Kamp Krazy was finally empty, the utterly destroyed land could be used as a landfill

The "Homeless" - translation, folks who are drunk and on drugs all the time (With very few exceptions) have cameras on them and are interviewed constantly by the media re: their unfortunate circumstances. They have become, belligerently indigent and just as self important and self aggrandizingly annoying as as Mask Nazis. Forget the homeless; Marxist Lady GAGA got her precious Bulldogs back.

See, five fellow Marxist Democrats (some might call them "homies") stole Marxist Democrat Lady Gaga's bulldogs and shot her gay Marxist dog walker.

Being of white privilege but also being WOKE, Marxist Lady GAGA offered a $500,000 reward for the return of her bulldogs.

See Marxist Democrats are the elites and they can throw $500,000 around like chump change even for dogs.

Of course, ABC, CNN, NBC etc. will not show the arrested dog nappers and attempted murderers photos, because well:

    * the suspects are mail-in voters for the Marxist Democrat Party

*it would be RACIST to show their pictures.

Thank goodness Lady Gaga got her bulldogs back. We can all sleep in peace !!

  26. 7:53 Good point. The D卐M☭CRATs and the 4th Estate would have you believe that we all by way of Noblesse oblige are responsible for the drug addicts and drunks who populate the highways and byways of every Liberal town/city in America. What is really happening, is just another transfer of wealth from the middle class to the bread and circus mob that keeps the elites in power, by way of the money, euchred out of YOUR wallet. Homeless drunks and bums vote D卐M☭CRAT in order to acquire more cash, more housing, more free shit, AT THE EXPENSE 0F THE MIDDLE CLASS. And, yes, don't forget to feel guilty, especially if you are white.

It's all lies, propaganda, agitprop and misdirection aimed at deceiving especially the white liberals who gleefully vote for their own annihilation.

If there is one silver lining to the coming meltdown/conflagration, it is the gnashing and wailing of the teeth of the fuckin sanctimonious, holier-than-thou idiots who placed their own heads on the block.

Everyone should work, work, work. Paying your own way for as long as you can, does more to support society, help your neighbors and promote liberty and freedom.

Parasites, are Progressives, especially Progressive politicians. They produce nothing and only leech off of the middle class.

    Off to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  35. $5 million ? For that much, there should already be a tiny house village. Seems like this group of homeless just want the city to give them a free property and to leave them alone with no oversight. For those who want to actually get their lives together this town has tons of services but you have to work with them.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Even KCMO isn't this stupid. There's an end game here that has nothing to do with the homeless. My guesses...

    - One part career advancement. Lucas wants to get some national attention for these efforts to further his political career, and the council doesn't have the backbone to stand in his way.

    - One part PR damage control. Lucas keeps trying to throw dollars into a temp solution to keep get it out of the news cycle and keep it from turning into a negative towards his political ambitions, but the temp solutions are blowing up in his face too quickly.

    - One part graft. Between the existing non-profits lining up for a piece of the pie and new ones formed every week to help manage the dollars, the usual pieces of shit smell new slop and are staking their claim at the trough quickly.

You do not like polyester or vinyl.
You are expecting them to perform like a stick-framed house.
You want your home building to be easy and straightforward.
You value your privacy above all, and you have 5 children.
You have REALLY loud traffic, loud neighbors, loud fights with your spouse, or overhead jets.
You hate dealing with the local government.
You live in a very hot or cold environment.
You want to live off grid, but need/want to be as comfortable as when you lived in your on-grid house with running water, flush toilet, and electric heat.
You have no savings, or assets.
    You don’t have land.

  52. There's 5 million people in the economic region. Kansas City gets 2,000 new homeless, first time campers per year. Some survive and go on to work or on to disability but many eventually die. There's no tracking the outcomes because they are considered low use population, even Karl Marx hated them and called them lumpen proletariat, the martyr George Jackson said, "some people are just broken". The difference between Qhadaffi over Stacy Shaw is Qhadaffi can see the humanity in those who've been sleeping rough in the elements.

    ReplyDelete
  53. And yet they still will not properly fund KCPD, you know, the folks who serve and protect. I guess we'll just call the nearest cheap hotel or tent city and see if any of their "guests" can come out and and stop a fight, arrest a pedophile, or find a lost child and take them home. Good times. And the carnival continues...
