Chip shortage leads Ford to idle Claycomo plant for two weeks - Kansas City Business Journal

Ford Motor Co. will idle its Kansas City Assembly Plant in Claycomo for two weeks, starting April 19, due to a global semiconductor chip shortage. The plant employs 7,250 people, making it the top manufacturing employer and fifth overall private-sector employer in the Kansas City area.
