TKC Told You So: Westport Homeless Camp Protest Stays Winning

As always, we offer special thanks to TOP ECHELON READERS and assorted denizens who FIRST noted the protest angle of this homeless encampment that has garnered local MSM attention over the past week.

Here's a worthy round-up without a paywall that deserves a look . . .

Westport homeless camp grows as form of protest

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Homeless camps in Westport and near Kansas City, Missouri, City Hall are meant to be a constant reminder to the public until city leaders take action, according to organizers. "All the people look at me like I'm disgusting," Ashlea Banks, who has been without a home for the past year, said.

  1. Well if these people are homeless they need to take it to the mayor Quinton Lucas who is running all affordable housing out of the city. He is in bed with the wealthy developers same a Sly James was. There are plenty of help wanted signs all over the metro, the problem is no place to rent. If you don't make a lot of money Lucas wants you OUT. It's plain to see.

  2. Yet he set up a warming shelter and will literally probably set up a cooling shelter soon. Weird.

  3. Kind of ironic the hobo's are sleeping on the ground and their is a Mattress Firm store across the street in the picture.

I bet the hobo's are pissing and shitting on the ground all around there.

Another reason not to live in Kansas City as it is becoming like San Francisco with hobo's taking a dump on the downtown sidewalks. Not sanitary.

Why does Dr. Rex Archer allow these unsanitary conditions to exist that spreads disease throughout Kansas City. Archer is a political hack not a doctor.

  4. How long until discarded hypodermic needles and human feces are found up and down the sidewalks of Westport? We will be just like those other progressives utopias, San Francisco and Seattle. This will turn into a public health and crime problem very quickly and the businesses will flee...the ones that survived the Covid lockdowns.

  5. ^^Oh No Maude! What do we do???? Oh the horror!!! We're going to be San Francisco!! My God!!! Oh no, no, no!

  6. Their demands should be met. The only problem is they can't even articulate their demands. Quinton Lucas to the rescue?

  7. People are fleeing San Francisco because of the vagrancy, public drug use, and high property crime rates. Even Piglosi could not escape people shitting on her driveway. I guess that is how Chimpy wants to live.

  8. They should self identify as illegal aliens. That way they could get Basement Joe to rent hotel rooms for them.

Don't call it a homeless camp! After a day of liberal hiking, whining, and embracing their inner-transgender, that's Councilman Eric Bunch and friends pitching their tents!!!

  20. ^^and yet it's STILL a TERRIFIC city and people ARE clamoring to live there as evidenced by the tremendous real estate values. No fake news web site like geekwire(?) can dispute that. So super weird..

  21. Pack up and move Chimpy. The available housing inventory in the Bay Area has doubled and prices are dropping. You should be able to afford it now.

  22. ^^No. It's Matlock time. Go watch it with the others.

  33. It's a rather smart move on their part. The encampment isn't close enough to the seat of wealth / power in KC as to be removed immediately, and isn't far enough into the east side as to be ignored. If it was in Loose Park or Meyer Circle it would be gone before sunset, and if it was east of Grand we would never know it existed.

Maybe it's time for KCMO to experiment. Take a few of those federal dollars and convert an empty school building into minimal housing instead of giving them to private social service organizations. Require those homeless who receive monthly federal benefits to pay a minimal amount each month to foster personal responsibility, those who don't pay $1/day. With this available option, the city could adopt a zero tolerance policy for camping on public property.

  34. White privilege. Nothing to see here.

  35. The Libtards ruin every city they touch. People don't want to visit Seattle, Portland, New York, Chicago or San Francisco nearly as much as they used to.

    ReplyDelete
  36. You guys should move to the Plaza. Much better view not as noisy. They have tennis courts a babbling stream and plenty of restaurants in the area.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Truman medical states a lot of new faces from the homeless. evidently people are being bused from St.Louis

    ReplyDelete
  38. All these Missouri Counties that send their people to prison end up in Kansas City when they get out. It's time for rural Missouri to pay up for their low use population care and housing.
