TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! ELECTION FIGHT TO CONTROL KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOL BOARD HITS $100K!!!

Special interests and political action committees are upping the ante as the April 6th Kansas City election approaches.

To wit . . .

URBAN CORE EDUCATION ORGANIZERS REVEALED MORE THAN 60 GRAND WORTH OF RECENT SPENDING IN HOPES OF SEIZING CONTROL OF THE KCPS!!!

Local news no longer reports on Kansas City Public Schools but our friends can fact check this report against the publicly available files on the Missouri Ethics website.

Money line . . .

INSIDERS EXPECT EAST SIDE POLITICAL POWER PLAYERS WILL SPEND MORE THAN $100K TO WIN A SWING VOTE ON THE KANSAS CITY PUBLIC SCHOOL BOARD!!!

Here's the word regarding the controversial, upstart, urban core lobbying group who wants more charter schools and will likely move to fire Superintendent Mark Bedell if they take power . . .

"Blaque filed a non-committee expenditure report last night.

"The spend is $66,930.

"Blaque has spent at least 100k on this campaign. Dr. Cokethea Hill and her donors have made this one of the most expensive school board elections in KCMO history. This is ludicrous!!!"

A couple of other things to consider . . .

- This is DARK MONEY. The campaign reports are expenditures and not an accounting of donations. Blaque is listed as a non-profit and in Missouri they are not required to report donations.

- Let's not forget that KCPS SCHOOL BOARD POSITIONS ARE UNPAID. And so this level of spending is raising quite a few eyebrows given very little documented payoff for election winners.

To date, this is one of the most expensive Kansas City school board votes in recent memory as Blaque, The Kauffman Foundation along with several right-wing corporate backers hope to strip away more schools from the KCPS.

  1. How much of that money is going toward students and families who need it?

    Don't answer, I know.

    Not one time.

  2. That's not entirely true. I hope they'll be feeding voters will and providing adequate transportation when they shuttle voters back and forth to the polls.

  3. All I can say is that stealing is stealing and hijacking is stealing too. This is very wrong.

  4. This is very right because KCPS suffers from incompetence and anything that helps remove kids from their oversight is a positive.

  5. What are the issues that divide one side from the other? Why does the swing vote matter?

  6. @5:23, good question. From what I gather if they get two swing votes then Dr. Bedell gets fired.

As for Charter schools, the ads say those are public schools but they don't have to follow the same rules. They can take the good students and flush the rest back into the district.

  7. They maybe unpaid positions but the kickbacks are awesome!

  8. Is this Dark Money or Darkie Money?

  9. Manny and Spark will host a pie eating contest to make up the $100k

  10. Pudding in; pudding out in Joe Biden's diaper.

Biden stated Trump starved immigrant children to death on the border. WTF?

There are funny drunks and then there are mean drunks.

There are funny demented geriatrics and then there are mean demented geriatrics like Joe Biden.

What an embarrassment for the United States is Joe Biden.

  11. When that much money is spent for an UNPAID position on the board of a FAILING school district with little chance of improvement, there's a less than admirable motive. It's a race to control the graft that the same cast of parasites have been sucking out of the district for decades. While broad generalizations should typically be avoided, I can say with reasonable confidence that EVERY member of that failing board is a thief, failure, and overall waste of oxygen that should be damned to the lowest pits of hell for committing their dispicable acts on the backs of innocent children.

  12. Folks, get smart, they are doing what other cities have done. They want control and so they can control the school curriculum and what books are used. As well as introduce more things such as 1619 project, critical race theory and teach transgenderism to kids.

DOn't believe that, look at what has happened in the other cities.

Don't let them win, this school district has gone to hell in the last 40 years let's stop it from getting worse

  13. For a very long time now, KCPS has been nothing more than yet another huge taxpayer-funded slush fund in KCMO.
The kids always come last, of course, and year after year passes with no accountability for results.
But the insider no-bid contracts for family, friends, insiders, supporters, and outright grifters represent a wealth of IOUs that will endlessly be called in by these "public servants".
It's always a big insider fight over who is the biggest of them all, is going to tell everyone else what to do, and grab the most for themselves.
And, as usual, the terrible educational results are the fault of everyone but the people who actually have the responsibility.
    Sad.

  14. Can illiterate alumni vote ?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Defund KCPS. Make the illiterate kids show up for school already fed by their illiterate parent.

  16. Like Betsy Devos, they want to be in charge of the public school system so they can kill it.

What's the difference between a segregated school & a charter school?

    Hint: It's a trick question.

  17. LIBERALS FUCK EVERYTHING UP

  18. Any non parent should NOT be a school board member.

  19. 12:40, no, it's an easy question. The segregated school is segregated (either de facto or de jure) while the charter school is not segregated.
