Kansas City Scoop: Betty Rae's Protection Order Postscript & Name Change Free Advice

As the weather warms up we share a quick news treat as hipsters hope a rebrand can make people forget one of the best/worst local public meltdowns amid COVID.

Question interlude inspired by the many assorted fashion choices of busty, curvy pop star Katy Perry, who also has a penchant for high carb-y indulgences . . .

SHOULDN'T NEW OWNERS REALLY CHANGE THE NAME OF BETTY RAE'S GIVEN SO MUCH NEGATIVE PUBLICITY?!?

That might cost more but tiven the bevy of local ice cream options in this cowtown, the negative branding damage seems considerable and something that might keep more timid customers away.

The tidbit . . .

The BEST & BRIGHTEST TKC readers recently sent a note regarding a protection order related to the very public domestic dispute amid the demise of Betty Rae's.

Again, the personal drama revolving around the place is far too silly to try to translate. Whilst social media allegations were wildly thrown, we notice that this is one of the few legal claims documented.

Alternately and a laugh . . .

Check The Pitch write-up that attempts to offer a positive spin and a tale of redemption for former owners.

Their saga is cringe-y and the only thing entertaining is watching "woke" newsies attempt to decipher the drama without casting a villain now that former employees want their jobs back.

Money line description of the former owners . . .

"A victim of a combination of a broken mental health system and of that same system failing the stress test of COVID-19 . . . (And) . . . A centered, loving person who seems to be incapable of taking shit from anyone, and put her foot down repeatedly to protect those she loves; including her husband. The two of them are attempting to tackle the road ahead with a healthy mixture of hope and gritty acceptance of how difficult it will be—and quite frankly how awful it has been to this point".

And so, whilst it isn't exactly a newsflash that the biz has some very serious personal issues . . . Their drama still resonates and we believe might necessitate a total departure from the formerly beloved ice cream biz that has been soured.
