KANSAS CITY SATURDAY STANDOFF!!!

An afternoon ruckus has emerged and local newsies are scurrying to the scene.

Here are the basics and the best info so far . . .

This afternoon just after 2:30p officers were called to a house in the 2000 block of Brooklyn on a prowler call.

A neighbor heard the sound of someone breaking into their neighbors house and saw a door that had been forced open and called police

Officers arrived and announced that police were there, a person inside yelled back to the officers but refused to come out.

A short time later the homeowner returned home and spoke with officers.  The homeowner confirmed no one is supposed to be in the house.  The homeowner also advised there are firearms inside the house.

Officers de-escalated and surrounded the house. They called for an Operation 100/standoff which brings additional tactical personnel, resources, and negotiators.

Officers and negotiators now are working to bring this standoff to a peaceful conclusion.

UPDATE:

"At about 5:15p a male exited the residence on his own and was taken into custody without incident. Officers ensured no one else was inside the residence and the burglary investigation continues this evening."

  1. They should just leave. Jean’s office won’t charge the burglar. Waste of resources.

  5. A home beak-in in the 2000 block of Brooklyn?
    Shocking!
When are the social workers and "Mothers in Charge" going to arrive?
Nothing to do that would help prevent this, but to paint another mural on the street.

I already avoid the 2000 block of Brooklyn. No good male prostitutes or little boys worth buttfucking there.

  9. Clearly the commenters don’t know that 2000 and Brooklyn features newer homes and is under development. Yes, the area has been home to crime but slowly the area is transitioning. With good neighbors watching out, like here, the area will be even safer. This is actually a story of how neighborhoods and neighbors work together to keep everyone safe and the suspect was apprehended. Now, Mean Jean needs to prosecute the asshole who broke in to the fullest extent of the law. There’s no reason folks should be breaking in, especially since Sleepy Joe has given everyone $1,400 tax free dollars to spend how they see fit. Don’t get greedy!

  11. According to the new laws in Baltimore you are not allowed to defend yourself and these laws will come to KC. Get weapons and if this happens to you, you are going to have to take care of things yourself. Don't report the crime and hide the body.

  13. Now let's deal in reality, 7:23.
If JPB gives a murderer one year in jail, what do you think she's going to do with this guy. My guess is she'll take him home for a little staycation and charge the cops who arrested him.
