Kansas City Debuts Brand New 'Pothole Plan' Just In Time For E-Tax Renewal

Apparently, this plan is TOTALLY DIFFERENT than Mayor Q's efforts pre-COVID and those of his predecessors who also made similar promises before election season.

Description . . .

Drivers will notice smoother Kansas City streets thanks to new strategies to prevent and patch potholes and a new policy to make sure pavement repairs last longer. City Manager Brian Platt and Public Works Director Michael Shaw revealed a comprehensive strategy for improving street maintenance this year with three key components:

1) A digital analysis of pavement

2) A more aggressive street resurfacing plan

3) A stricter excavation policy

Take a look . . .

  2. What an idiot.

Truck, hot patch, and shovel would be far more effective than digital analysis, stupid policies, and endless plans

  3. Mayor McDrinkerson! Maybe take a break from your little yoga group and pay attention? There are murders and infrastructure problems and the city's finances to address and...

Sorry. Forgot who I was talking to. Maybe time for more tweets and self-promotion!

  5. Quinton Lucas doesn't have an original thought of his own so how could he possible have a plan? He has done nothing but follow the leaders of NY and CA talking a good talk and doing nothing. The only thing the guy is good at, is being a racist and organizing riots.

  6. He may actually get this done quickly.

The streets need to be smooth for the upcoming George Floyd 2.0, Mostly Peaceful, Loot and Burn-a-Thon

  7. If you watch the video, they are taking an "equitable" approach - so we know it will be inefficient, fraught with corruption, too expensive and ultimately ineffective.

If they were smart, they would just resurface the roads in high voting districts right before the election...like they did with Ward Parkway up until the plaza where giant craters exist in the transient neighborhood.

  8. This is around the 415th "plan" that KCMO somehow thinks it needs to patch potholes.
Most cities that actually have a public works department, infrastructure management program, and even a modicum of organization, have both maintained their streets and very quickly located and repaired potholes for many years.
It's really neither an unexpected problem, nor one that takes a great deal of expertise or ability to fix.
But in KCMO pothole repair, like pretty much else that might actually mean something to residents, is so far down on the list of priorities that it's not even in sight.
Lucas is the emptiest of empty suits to come along in a very long time.

  9. It will be like every other plan, GO Bonds or tax increase. Once the tax is passed the purpose will be forgotten and it will become a developer/TIF slush fund.

  10. And that's why I'm voting against the E tax

  13. President Kamala3/30/21, 3:26 PM

DO NOT RENEW THE E-TAX!!!!! IF YOU HAPPEN TO BE CONSERVATIVE, WHITE, OR LIVE
OUTSIDE DOWNTOWN, THOSE DOLLARS GO TO DOWNTOWN INTERESTS, ADMINISTRATION INSIDERS, PEOPLE AND GROUPS WHO HATE YOU. YOU ARE FINANCING YOUR OWN DOWNFALL IF YOU VOTE YES.

  14. ^^I will vote yes. There.

  15. Use WEP "Water Extended Polyester" resins with a bit of polyethylene fibers. This was developed during WW2 and lasts so much longer than the asphalt mix they slop in the holes now. Contact what is the remnants of Cook Polymers in NKC. They will know what you are talking about. Cheaper too. Problem solved.

  16. Sounds like lots of "work" in the office and hardly any in the field, you know, where the potholes are...

  17. Please do the right thing and vote NO for the ETAX. DONT BE A HATER AND A RACIST PLEASE VOTE NO. DONT BE ON THE WRONG SIDE OF HISTORY.
