The newspaper is trying to compete with TKC in sharing satire with the public.

Sadly, this joke doesn't work because it contradicts every bit of cowtown recorded history . . . Read more:

'Not a slush fund' - KC can't go on a spending spree with federal COVID-19 relief

Kansas City's budget crisis appears to be over, for now. The new federal COVID-19 relief bill is expected to send the city $195 million directly, more than enough to cover the projected $70 million deficit of just a few weeks ago.

  7. KC Shitty Hall spending money responsibly...that's some funny shit right there.
Drive anywhere in KC and there are roads closed for weeks due to water main breaks everywhere(which should have been addressed decades ago). But yet we are extending the fucking toy train route (aka...The Bed Bug Express) that generates ZERO income, using city resources. DUMB MOTHER FUCKERS!!!!

Although I would be willing to bet every Shitty Hall Council Member will be driving a new Cadillacs this summer after some good old 'gro palm greasing.

  9. Vote Yes on the Earnings Tax renewal, so we can keep spending tax money on entertainment districts, convention centers, convention hotels, parking garages for luxury condos and apartments, toy trains, stadiums and subsidize underperforming TIF's.

  12. Even now, the grievance groups are lining up in front of City Hall with their palms up. They didn't accomplish much with previous funding, but with more money they will...still not accomplish much. But they will eat better and drive nicer cars.

  14. The same city hall that tanked KC into the red will now be responsible with *free * money? Yeah. OK. I see where that makes sense.

  15. The budget gap next year will be twice what this year's would have been. KC, like many ill prepared lottery winners, will make horribly shortsighted decisions with long term consequences. The e-tax coffers won't recover in a post covid WFH reality, and the long term promises they make with this years' windfall will be doubly unaffordable next year.
