The newspaper is out by the end of the year and here's a peek at the new listing . . .

Sorry a city needs a strong press.

Not sorry, the star became weak and biased favoring the fads of today at the expense of the truth. Good riddence.

Should be bought and made into the Liberal Hall of Fame.

Take everything out if it and showcase it for liberalism:

1. It’s empty
2. Business model at its best
3. What liberal leaders left behind
4. Nothing really in it- just air
5. Waste of space
6. Best ideas that were in it couldn’t keep it going
7. Great highway I-70 in a car can remind thousands each day of what failure looks like
8. Hollow space is the art liberalism permeates- living art
9. What tax write-offs can do for a city
10. If attendance reaches 100 people a day inside- charge others via tax to make up operating costs. Just levy another 1% Earnings tax. Just like the last one.. make it for only a few years. It’s just someone else’s money.

The city should buy it. Turn it into a world-class whorehouse. Hire hot young 18- 21 year old Joco sluts and maybe some hot Leawood MILFs who aren’t getting properly fucked by their pussy husbands.. Sell drugs to be used by the customers. This will cause our convention business to explode. It might be the only thing saving Kansas City from bankruptcy.

A whorehouse with young hot sluts would help the convention business. But it wouldn’t be good for normal everyday business because almost everyone living downtown are homosexuals.

"Re-purposing" is a great way for the usual insider developer suspects to cash in big-time.
Buy the building with borrowed money.
Tear it down.
Then propose to "develop" the now-empty site with as many incentives and as much taxpayer money as you can lay your hands on.
Which, in KCMO, is a whole bunch.
Nice takings for bond attorneys, consultants, planners, developers' lawyers, and the rest of the "incentives" menagerie.
Then, of course, the completed "project" won't be able to support its operations financially, so the taxpayers will be on the hook to make up the difference for decades.
Just an endless repetition of how KCMO government has operated for decades.
How are all the early retirements of people who have the responsibility of providing services that are actually of use to city residents coming?
When you're in a hole, stop digging!

It has been a brick shithouse for decades, just leave it the way it is and in majuscule letters the size of cars, put "Transgender Bathrooms".

On a daily basis, sell the K.C. Star right outside. No one will buy it and the "paper of record" can be used for toilet paper.

"Woke" Kansas City can wipe their collective asses with the section they chose, in order to maintain the sanctimony necessary for daily survival even in the woke water closet.

There will be sheaf after sheaf, by the metric fuck ton of scathing indictments/bullshit hit pieces on Trump for the foreseeable future that should provide the cleanest tranny asses in the country right here in the city.

This will in turn, increase the 25 million visitors we now have on the Toy Train upwards into unfathomable numbers that will benefit the many restaurants and bars in town. Oh..., wait..., they are all closed.

That's ok, the city can employ the folks laid off in the Covid Hoax in mask-making plants after the mayor forces us all to wear 2 to 3 masks like Dr. Fauci demands. Those not working in mask-making plants will no doubt be able to code, or make solar panels.

Gas is up about 35% and will climb like Alex Honnold on a eight ball of meth as Biden kills of more and more of the energy industry, but, hey, long walks on the beach..., er..., through the snow is good for all of us.

This is gonna be great!!!

How about putting in a real newspaper there?

Just leave it in place to provide the Trumpturds ( sorry, Trumptards) something to focus their whining on.

Turn it into a gay bar.
Call it "The Glass Ass".

HEY! Here is a story the 'Paper Of Record' can do today, that is a no brainer!

Obama, just yesterday on a podcast with Bruce Springsteen (Hic), said that when he was in school in Hawaii, he broke a white guys nose for calling him a coon. The Progressive Paladin took exception to the comment and, of course, having thunder in both hands, blasted the racism right out of that nasty, awful, typically racist white boy with a single, unanswered blow that would have made Earnie Shavers proud.

I think that this is a story worth telling. The national and international Progressive pedagogue, reminding us by way of the good offices of our local fish wrap, of not just his physical prowess, but his constant and unrelenting war on evil white supremacists who are, as we all know, EVERYWHERE!

I realize that there have been TWO autobiographies and a memoir and this has never been mentioned, but the K.C. Star will dig deep and ONLY print the truth.

No doubt, after this happened (sarc) he blasted some tupac, lit up a joint and exit the room poplocking and everyone clapped.

What a walkin talkin mountain of a man among men.

Fuckin awesome barry!!!

It's a monument to racism. We all know what happens to anything tied to racism. Don't force people to look at it anymore.

After going bankrupt with their current business strategy, it looks like the Star is trying to reach out to Conservatives by seeking a Regional Audience Growth & Retention Editor. The job posting says the job will be "responsible for leading and motivating your team to help guide our local newsrooms as they expand and diversify audiences, deploy reader engagement strategies that will better connect them to communities, and create retention plans that will drive home our value to readers and subscribers."

I guess writing something of interest to Conservatives would mean expanding and diversifying their audience.

The building's WAY to particular in it's design, there's nothing else besides a press facility that could make efficient use of the space. It will be torn down, but don't let the article fool you, the new use has already been decided upon. The local power players just need for the COVID to die down before they make their play for the big bucks.

It will be the home of the new downtown Royals stadium. It's just too perfect of a fit to not happen:

- The Star building occupies two blocks and the two adjacent blocks to the west are mostly parking lots with a few old buildings. A MLB stadium would require about four city blocks of space.

- It's right across the street from the arena and P&L. Shared event spaces, parking that's already built, etc.

- It's two blocks from the new Lowe's hotel, which the City has a big stake in.

- The City has been trying to clean up that little stretch of Grand Blvd for forever, with the flashing "totally nude" sign. A stadium would get rid of all of that.

The Pendergast model! It actually worked well.

Turn it into a museum. We need someplace to keep the memories of what a beautiful, exciting, and vibrant town, Kansas City once was. There could be displays highlighting all of the dead white men who built this city. William Rockhill Nelson, H. Roe Bartle, R. Crosby Kemper, and J. C. Nichols. It could highlight the legacy they left us and how badly we mistreated our birthright like a bunch of ignorant, spiteful children. We need to remember what we have lost.

let it lie empty and rot and have broken windows that aren't repaired and become a blight that people point to and say there was once a newspaper in kansas city.

Will the Star's hedge fund parent finally have to start paying taxes on the property? It would be a fitting subject for a hard hitting Star editorial.

tear it down, pave it over, and "re-purpose" the lot so hood-rats and their cars can do their burnouts.

Anonymous said...

Why don’t they just turn the place into a new prison for Jackson county, it’s plenty big and could hold at least a thousand prisoners.

Anonymous said...

Tear it down, pave it flat and make it the BLM smoke and donut firing range. Drive the last decent businesses out to the suburbs. Lickass can take a knee and a date and night he needs no reason to go to.Lawrence or the lake to find fresh wennie.

^^Huh?? Are you stroking out geezer? Do you need us to call 9-1-1? English. Do you speak it?

I'm going to buy it and turn it into chuckloweland, a big target range with DUMMYCRAT targets and an Election Fraud Roller Coaster that just takes your money and gives you a pointless ride.

I would like to hear corn pop’s send up of Obama’s awesome Nobel peace prize which he no doubt enjoys to this day as he contemplates his wars in Libya Yemen Syria and 100k troops in Afghan, sinking into a deep reverie, continues to re define the role and makes pro war liberals swoon with wokeness and ardor

Fill the KC Red Star glass building with water and make it an aquarium.

Hire the former editors to jack off sperm whales.

Maybe they could use it for indoor burnout contests? 🤣
