TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! COUNCILMAN DROPS OUT OF HOMELESS TASK FORCE!!! POLICE CALLED TO CONVENTION CENTER CAMP!!! SECURITY CONCERNS ARISE AMID DOWNTOWN KANSAS CITY CHAOS DEVISED BY KANSAS CITY MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS!!!

There is a crisis emerging at the Kansas City Convention Center homeless camp that just about everybody in this cowtown predicted.

The latest . . .

COUNCIL DUDE BRANDON ELLINGTON DROPS OUT OF HOMELESS TASK FORCE!!!

As always, we give credit to KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS who sent us the info FIRST and we share their quote . . .

"Councilman Ellington complains and pretends to advocate legislatively for homeless persons, but when it's time to dedicate resources to the issue, he's nowhere to be found."

In fairness . . .

Read the full statement from the councilman . . . And here's his money-line:

"It appears that the directives have changed & there is no clear direction other than what appears
to be a P. R. related stunt," Councilman Ellington noted.

"As an elected official I take my duty to engage and represent my constituents personal and I have little
to no time to waste. For the past 13 years I have shown dedication to serving and providing resources to the unhoused community and I refuse to let sincere dedicated actions be diverted by political gamesmanship."

It gets worse . . .

KCPD HAVE ALREADY BEEN CALLED TO THE HOMELESS CAMP REPEATEDLY AS SECURITY DEVISED BY ORGANIZERS AND MAYOR Q HAS FALLEN APART!!!

Confirmation salvaged from behind a local paywall . . .

"City Manager Brian Platt said there had been 24-hour security, and the Kansas City Police Department had been called to the site. KCPD could not immediately provide information Thursday about its calls for service there."

Now . . .

Council Lady Shields is also raising concerns about security and it sounds like the new city manger is getting ready to fall on the rhetorical grenade and take over the badly bungled effort.

  1. So, if the mayor isn't going to listen to people on council. I guess there's not much hope of him listening to police.

  3. With all those exclamation points you'd think this was really important.

    Alas, it's not.

  4. For the last 13 years Ellington has served no one but himself...

He’s represents what has happened in Baltimore, Oakland, Portland and on and on and is happening to KC

Gotta agree. If he really believes in fighting homelessness, now isn't the time to drop out. Time to stand up and work for solutions.

  11. Ellington is right on this. It is dangerous and disorganized. Lucas needs to call a halt to this before some poor soul who actually thinks they're getting help is injured or worse. It's gonna happen eventually if it hasn't already. Numerous calls for the police on assaults, but they are not allowed in the building and are having to make contact with the victims outside the "warming center". In addition to ReStart pulling out of this debacle some of the others who had initially offered to help have also wisely bowed out, Jack Stack being one of them. Should the homeless be helped? Absolutely, but not in this way.

  12. Ellington has not accomplished a darn thing since he has been there except throwing bombs and disagreeing with everything. What a big mistake voting for him, we need to kick him off the council as soon as the next election if not sooner. I wish he would sit his ass down and shut up.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Ellington thinks he is the smartest person in the room because he served in Jefferson City. He treats everyone like they are stupid. He needs to stand down.

  14. We tried to tell them. the hell with it. Let it burn!

  17. jack stack was over the top. was that planned as a debut opening night meal or was going to be nightly cuz it sure as hell aib't nightly at restart. Restart does good things, they can also be criticized. IWhen i went down there, besides asking ever time if it was court ordered (NOT TODAY!)there was clearly-to-me a guy who had diabetes in a wheel chair and they had no food some nights that he could eat. And every time he rolled away the ladies were always asking him if he was sure he didn't want some pasta or mashed potatoes a cookie or ice cream. ALL you want is canned green beans?! he was a big guy. He just kinda grumbled and rolled away.

  19. KCPD cars stocked with bananas just in case...

  20. This is but a drop in the bucket of what is in store for not only Kansas City but the country as a whole. Unexperienced Mayors and political clowns are attempting to force their idiotic beliefs onto the general public that as we all see are ending in total chaos. There is no planning as they are incapable of thoughtful planning or being true leaders. Lucas himself leaps from one idiotic thought to the next while not being held accountable for any of it. In the private sector of a properly ran company security would have long ago boxed up Lucas's personal belongings and escorted him out the front door in view of all.

The citizens of what use to be a beautiful city and recognized as such need to demand that the city returns to that place in time where thugs didn't roam our streets nor were thugs put in place for security by it leaders.

It's time for the citizens of Kansas City to demand that a cleaning take place at 12th and Oak by removing all that is really wrong with this city. The leaders in place have proven time and time again they lack what it takes to make Kansas City beautiful again.

Your tax dollars are no longer used to run the city, they are being used to destroy it by your so called leaders selling out to special interest groups, whose only interest is their bank balances.

  21. As long people vote for the earnings tax things will not change.

  22. The best thing voters can do is vote NO on the Earnings Tax election in April. Starve the beast.

DO NOT RENEW THE E-TAX!!!!! IF YOU HAPPEN TO BE CONSERVATIVE, WHITE, OR LIVE
OUTSIDE DOWNTOWN, THOSE DOLLARS GO TO DOWNTOWN INTERESTS, ADMINISTRATION INSIDERS, PEOPLE AND GROUPS WHO HATE YOU. YOU ARE FINANCING YOUR OWN DOWNFALL IF YOU VOTE YES.

  24. This is nothing more than business as usual at 12th and Oak where pretty much EVERYTHING is entertainment and people desperate for attention trying to climb over each other.
Who gets the most TV or "social media" time.
Who can get what passes for local media to "report" their points of view.
Well thought-out proposals or actual planning and most of all, competent execution are not even on the list.
A daily celebration of D-list celebrity and incompetence.
And all at the taxpayers' expense.
    Sad.

  26. Ellington is just another nigger with a race card.

  27. ellington's public statements are thinly veiled pretty nasty even if he is right on this issue, which he is.

fair enough for him to count his years serving in Jeff City lonely democrat caucus but also fair for some to say "so what?"

seems there is a total breakdown on the council or at least major beef among those representing the black districts and the mayor. federal covid dollars will heal all wounds

  31. lucas is positioning himself to take cleaver's spot.

He will carry on the racist positions of KC politics

    ReplyDelete
  32. The mayor is clueless.

Why does he hate white people? They are the ones that rescued him from the cycle of poverty and got him out the the ghetto.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Vote Yes on the Earnings Tax renewal, so we can keep spending tax money on entertainment districts, convention centers, convention hotels, parking garages for luxury condos and apartments, toy trains, stadiums and subsidize underperforming TIF's.

    ReplyDelete
  34. just serve corn bread and pork n beans to the homeless - chances are most homeless people have teeth problems already. why make it worse with foods that they can't chew?

    ReplyDelete
  35. Bartle Hall will need a Haz Mat decontamination after this shit-show (no pun intended).

    ReplyDelete
  36. Ellington-"lets pilfer some more general fund money and defer City road and street maintenance budget money to fund some more worthless urban projects"

    ReplyDelete
  37. Don't step foot in Bartle Hall for several years unless you want to contract Covid-19, Hepatitis, AIDS and who knows what else.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Bartle Hall custodial staff need to hire a good lawyer and sue Lucas for putting them in medical harms way by dumping these people into Bartle Hall without prior health screening.

    ReplyDelete
  39. LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!

    It's racist versus racist LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  40. How did this happen? Quinton had the best of intentions!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Apparently Democrats have yet to come to the conclusion that they broke it and they bought it. You can't blame this on Trump or the Evil Republicans. The stolen election may be the best thing that could have happened to the country. Now people get to see who these idiots are and what they think. I'm content to do nothing other than sit on my ass and laugh about it for the next few years. Hob bout that dude in a dress Biden has in his cabinet that he should have stuck in his closet? This freak show is hilarious!

    ReplyDelete
  42. So...what effect will this have on the downtown baseball stadium project?

    ReplyDelete
  43. How are the police not allowed in a city owned building? What the hell is going on there?

    ReplyDelete
  44. "If he really believes in fighting homelessness"

Nothing going on at Bartle Hall fights homelessness. The goal is only to keep the bums alive until Spring so they can go on being homeless some more.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Damn if Super Dave didn't rub Quinton's face into this mess.

    Good job dude!

    ReplyDelete
  46. All while Take a Knee Lickass is at the Super Bowl on our dime. What a joke.
