Snow Delays Kansas City Trash Pickup

City Hall social media update offers an excuse to sleep in that's not related to last night's crushing defeat.

Here's the word . . .

We will be delaying trash/recycling and  bulky item pickup on Monday because of snow removal efforts Sunday night and Monday.

On Super Bowl Sunday we have 140 employees to salt and plow routes as temperatures allow. Sunday, the night shift reports at 11 p.m. to continue salting and plowing overnight.

Monday it's all hands on deck-- crews from Public Works, Solid Waste, Parks & Recreation and KC Water will report to salt and plow roads.

Trash/Recycling collection is delayed one day throughout the week, like the holiday schedule. Monday pick up moves to Tuesday, etc.

Monday bulky item pickup appointments will be delayed one day.

In neighborhoods, please park off-street, or only on the north and west sides of the street, so that plows can get through faster and plow better. As always, check for snow updates at kcmo.gov/snow

  1. Meanwhile the city is spinning out of control and can't even get basic services done but the Mayor and a large number of the staff whose job it is to run Kansas City are all in Tampa having a good time on your dime.

  3. A City Truck just blew through my Northland neighborhood at fifteen miles or more over the speed limit with it's blade six inches off the ground, so the City's GPS tracking system now shows our streets as plowed, I guess.

  4. You expect people who can't tell the difference between right and wrong to know which direction the North and West sides of streets?

  6. Trash pickup will be delayed for three weeks as the public works is clearing the streets for the big parade. Black panther party will provide the security.
