Selfish & Greedy Johnson County Shirks Warming Center Resources

Quick slice of life and what might be a reason to renew the e-tax according to some of our irascible readers.

Here's the word . . .

"So KC is paying $1.25 MILLION to help the homeless but we don't see any help from other metro cities. In particular, Johnson County is putting their people out into the cold despite a growing homeless population in that community. Somebody needs to call them out for their selfishness in a time of crisis. Some of us can remember when cops in JoCo used to dump the homeless off in KCMO. Thankfully more cameras on streets have stopped that kind of practice. Now they're just shutting the doors on the helpless. Shame on them."

Here's just a bit of headline confirmation from a local blog with most of its content shut down behind a paywall . . .

Johnson County warming centers limited due to COVID-19 - here are more resources to stay safe this winter

As temperatures are expected to drop to the negatives over the next few days, homeless and housing insecure Johnson Countians may be looking for a place to warm up. And that could be complicated by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

  1. Looking for a place to warm up???? Tons of places you can go. Go the the white house the impostor president is cutting everyone's jobs and making everyone pay for someone else's abortion with your tax dollars and you can go to Sharice Davids house she has experience in living off of the Gov. and not paying her bills. Then there is NY where AOC aka crazy eyes said she was going to clean up her district. Plenty of opportunities there after all she is an experienced bartender born with a silver spoon in her mouth in a very wealthy area she would know how to help make you wealthy. Problem solved. Democrats got you covered.

  3. If it's from the SHAWNEE MISSION POST you bet that half of what it says is a lie or twisted. Did the owner of that POS open his home to any homeless people? He preaches to you but never practices what he preaches. He's like that Biden and Pelosi POS.

Other cities are fiscally responsible and charities are handling the issue there. Why should everyone else go $70 million in the hole just because KC is fucking stupid? Also, surrounding communities don't have anywhere near the homeless population because they don't have Nazi wannabe mayors.

  5. Gas chambers and ovens most homeless would not be missed. The smart ones will escape.

  6. It is not the government's job to take care of you. That's your job even when you don't have a job.

  7. There are plenty of charitable organizations helping. It is not the job of local government to feed the bums, especially if the local government is not meeting its responsibilities to the taxpayers. You know, complicated stuff like public safety, well maintained roads, trash pick up.

  9. If Kansas City feels so overwhelmed, it would be cheaper to charter buses and send them to the biggest warming center of all; Mexico

I take homeless people camping and hiking. The fresh air is good for them.
