O'DOWD'S LAWSUIT AGAINST MAYOR Q & KANSAS CITY CLAIMS COVID CRACKDOWN FAVORS BIG BIZ OVER LOCALS!!!

Kansas City small biz is desperate as the threat of ongoing pandemic restrictions until May will leave many of them absolutely penniless.

Accordingly, here's a glimpse at more push back and another legal fight on the horizon . . .

Country Club Plaza bar and restaurant sues Kansas City mayor over COVID-19 restrictions

Deets:

The suit was filed Thursday in the Circuit Court of Jackson County by Kansas City attorney Michael Gunter, who previously filed another COVID-19 suit against the city.

The owners of O’Dowd’s, at 4742 Pennsylvania Ave., said they are well aware that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused death and pain to millions and will continue to do so, but it also is creating a “vast economic loss of great proportions.”

Remember that the "gastrobar" was forced to close under the mayor's recent restrictions.

In the lawsuit, O’Dowd’s says large companies, such as casinos, have not had the same restrictions. They also have access to more capital than small, locally owned businesses. O’Dowd’s argues that other Kansas City operations are allowed to stay open later to serve food and drink, such as convenience stores. And it says the mayor doesn’t have the legal authority to issue the orders.

  1. This is a much better case than last time around. It's a shame that it has come to this. Q is a mayor for the casinos, not Kansas City.

A Muslim was sitting next to Irishman on a plane.

    The Irishman ordered a whiskey.

The stewardess asked the Muslim if he'd like a drink.

He replied in disgust "I'd rather be raped by a dozen whores than let liquor touch my lips!"

The Irishman handed his drink back and said

"Me too, I didn't know we had a choice!"

I can make you speak Irish---
Say "Whale oil beef hooked" quickly.

I used to go to O'Dowds, for the food of course.

  4. Good for them. It also seems that cola cola has become woke as well research what they are doing now with only giving to black people and black owned businesses, being racist toward anyone who is white it's really sickening and extremely racist.

It's funny how many democrats still think the party is for the working man and small business. Hasn't been that way for years. They are the party of big business globalism and now racism.

  10. The problem with the mayor is he allowed fans to congregate in large groups at Chiefs games without really enforcing mask policies. He also allowed people to congregate in large groups at places such as Walmart, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. which is not really fair either. Essential businesses? That is debatable too. I think we all know most people were going to these places not out of necessity. I like the mayor but his rules should've been fair all across the board and they were not. This lawsuit is completely justified and I expect there to be many more to follow.

  11. The Mayor is not for the casinos. He shut all the casinos down for three months completely then allowed them to open up with no bars and restaurants to speak of. Now the casinos are only allowed to have limited bars and restaurants open until 10pm at half capacity. I don't know where people on here get their facts. I'm guessing no one has been to a casino since this whole thing started?

    1. That's true. Hes not favoring the casinos. They have Covid restrictions just like everyone else. People need to fact check before they pass judgement.

  12. Made a rare Target purchase recently, then besieged with "black ads". One wouldn't know white folks existed if they saw only Target's ads.
Cold day before I visit them again.
