Kansas City Star Denounces KCPD Training

Newspaper screed money line in their continued attacks against local law enforcement . . .

"Criminologists and Kansas City community leaders who reviewed the presentation at the newspaper’s request said the training material strikes a defensive, argumentative tone and is dismissive of members of the public who have protested police brutality and systemic racism."

Th rest of the constat criticism is safely hidden behind the paywall . . .

'Amateurish and unprofessional': Kansas City police shooting training faces criticism

In a year that saw Kansas City police shoot and kill two Black men, in one case leading to the indictment of a detective, officers were told they shouldn't feel guilty about being "the winner in a competition in which the winning prize is their life."

  1. The Star is a tabloid, why does anyone care what the Marxist Star thinks.

  2. Maybe the Star should take a look at their own training. How well has that been working? The Star is circling the drain. What a fucking joke.

  3. “The images feed stereotypes that lead to the fear and hatred of Black men,” Grant said. “It feeds the false narrative that Black men are dangerous predators and a threat to white lives....“It appears that the trainer was on a mission to nurture a ‘them against us’ mindset and culture.”

c'mon gwen, you expect people to believe the black community has not taught their children that about all white people and especially the police.

  4. Oops... Paywall... Not paying

I'm surprised the Star doesn't recommend that all white cops let all black thugs take the first shot as payment for reparations?

  5. all white people all black people all police can benefit from taking a daily self-accounting of how big of a shit head they were and why.

  6. Red Star whining.....again. Ho hum.

  7. Black people commit crimes, so the interaction with police is magnified. Then, the media, who hates middle American and wants us replaced in order to effect one party rule, lies about "Hands Up" etc etc.

    Rinse, wash, repeat.

It works, because for decades our kids don't learn the basics in school, can't think critically and graduate without the ability to add, subtract and read, but-sure as hell know all bout how evil whitey is.

You don't need to be that smart in order to tear down a statue, burn a building, sucker punch a white person, or, rob a fuckin liquor store.

No one is shocked that a guy like George Floyd is a hero, to people, just as fuckin stupid, as George Floyd.

  12. "helps explain the distrust, suspicion and lack of confidence many communities have with law enforcement"
how do statistics cause police to respond to black people?

It is OK not to consider Justice Horn a community leader.

  13. KCPD has been anything but racist to black people. Everyone needs to see the BS in this racism crap that absolutely does NOT happen today with the KCPD or any other police dept in our metro area. If anything the KCPD and other metro police have spoiled black people and been more unfair to white people!

  14. Aren't white ppl at the kc star promoting justice horn as a community leader and neither the white community or the black community is really interested.

  17. You people seem to forget that the star writes whatever mayor lickass tells them to write. This article is so stupidly written I wouldn’t be surprised one bit if lickass wrote the damn thing himself and is using somebody else’s name to cover up for him.

These articles reflect what the mayor really thinks. He’s just hiding the fact that he’s behind all this garbage.

He’s still a child in a grown up world.... and failing miserably.

  18. KCPD shoots 2 black thugs aiming guns at them and the KC Red Star writes a scathing editorial calling the police racist.

Meanwhile, 200 black thugs murders 200 other citizens last year and the KC Red Star says nothing. Not a peep.

Explains why the KC Red Star is bankrupt and selling its buildings; they slander, propagandize for the Marxist Democrat Party and write misinformation when their potential customers want facts and unbiased journalism.

  19. ^^And yet that literally didn't happen. Weird.

  20. The reason several cities lay in ruin is due the inability of some blacks to do as they are told by police. Behave and there will not be a problem.

  22. Grammar, style, conventions and the like nerd here

are we no longer supposed to use “african American”? This article uses adjective “black” but with capitalized first letter even though not first word of the sentence.

Is it a proper noun now? And why did we ever abandon “colored”? It is more descriptive and accurate and was the original term of choice for the civil rights titans in the era of, say, W.E.B. duBois

  23. 10:03 - Some time ago, the AP changed its style book to capitalize the B in Black and leave the w in white in lower case. I don't recall the reasoning,if any, but I doubt it would pass an objective laugh test. That usage has since become de rigueur at all the wokest news outlets, of which the Star is of course one.

  24. GLENN E. RICE and THE KC STAR = "Amateurish and unprofessional"

"criminologists and Kansas City community leaders who reviewed the presentation at the newspaper’s request said the training material strikes a defensive, argumentative tone and is dismissive of members of the public who have protested police brutality and systemic racism."

    Translation of the above paragraph:
The Liberal Democrat Social Justice Warrior KC Star handpicked a few anti-police advocates to cherry-pick their way through some KCPD training material. Shockingly to NO ONE, they magically found some objections!

There is NO civil society without law enforcement and respect for the rule of law. All those who seek to abolish/defund the police should band together and start their own separate walled community, they can call it Anarchyville.

  30. The star has no respect from the majority of people. They (star) can blame the electronic age for lack of subscribers but it's been a silent protest by people cancelling their subscriptions over the content and lack of content!!

The current editors and editorial board has ruined the once great KC Star, yes, it was once great....no more!!

And they ruined any credibility they had, little as it was when they did their apology for racism for news reporting.

    They're done!
