Kansas City Star Complains About Muddy Ticket That's NEVER Written

There are reasonable arguments and debate the public should have regarding police reform. Sadly, the newspaper focuses on trivia as they continue to slide into niche publication territory.

Check the story tease whilst the rest is safely hidden behind the paywall . . .

KC police can ticket you for dirty car tires. Mayor Lucas is right to challenge that

Did you know you're breaking the law in Kansas City if your tires are too muddy? Yep. A current Kansas City ordinance prohibits cars and trucks from depositing "mud, dirt, sticky substances, litter or foreign matter of any kind" on streets and highways. You can be ticketed if you do it.

  1. The KCPD will write tickets for most anything - but only if you look like you are not armed and will readily pay the ticket. Otherwise you can drive around in stolen autos and pretty much do anything you want and they will not bother you.

  2. if you're going to deface public property, i.e. the streets, than i thinks it would be better to use mud from tires rather than than paint for murals.

  3. Right. Can't drive around and "deposit" mud on the streets, but you can certainly paint graffiti on the street - as long as the slogan, "black lives matter" is involved.

This freaking law is a law about every where you go.

The Red Star is grasping for news it appears.

  5. On any given day at any given hour; one can see five or six vehicles on Bruce Watkins freeway flying down the highway with expired temporary tags.

Never heard of the muddy ticket until just now. Probably enacted so the lazy ass City employees don't have to get off their ass while watching BET TV and have to clean the streets.

  6. This has always been a factor no matter where you are. Muddy tires are like driving on ice when you go to stop. If you look at tickets there are things to check off like dirty windows, visibility from the car and other things. When they say mud on tires they are talking about a lot of mud which many people don't have. As far as Lucas goes I wouldn't listen to this guy if he said " have a nice day" he's crazy and his racism is eating him alive.

  7. They are looking through the sofa for loose change. The best course of action is to avoid Kansas City altogether.

  11. Seems like a good ordinance. What's the problem with it?
