Politics and optics again control (OMIT) why we in the Kansas City metro are apart of this circus. The Southwest Power Pool formed in 2018 now controls our fate whether that is good or bad. We have adequate resources locally, but are committed to share our resources with ill-fated communities sometimes states away whether there shortfalls are of there own doing (political, business incompetence) or natural disasters or both. THE SPECIFICS NEEDS TO BE FULLY EXPLAINED, DAMN THE POLITICS OR OPTICS!

WASHINGTON — Federal regulators say they are launching an “inquiry” into the operations of the bulk-power system during the severe winter storm that left millions without power in subfreezing temperatures in Texas and other states.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the North American Electric Reliability Corporation announced the inquiry Tuesday.

Officials said the immediate emphasis will remain on restoring power to customers and securing the reliability of the bulk-power system, but they will work with other federal agencies, states, regional entities and utilities to identify problems with the performance of the bulk-power system and identify solutions. FERC oversees interstate electricity transmission while NERC oversees reliability standards for the continental U.S., Canada parts of Mexico.

  43. This is the result of altering basic economic calculations by heavily subsidizing unreliable power generation technology like wind and solar. When it inevitably fails there is not enough baseline capacity left in the system to keep it from collapsing.

    ReplyDelete
  44. ^^and yet gas and coal failed this time. Texas didn't install de-icers on their turbines like the rest of the world did. Weird.

    2. Of the whole of spcc or whatever group that is 31% is their power comes from wind, the majority of power generation in their group. From what their spokesbabe said the other morning, they were only getting 8% from their wind. So yes the blame falls squarely on their blind posturing for s'posed green power. Why the fvck we're supporting their initiatives i don't know. They are a net user, we are and have been net producers

  45. Texas, Missouri, Kansas the United States never had a nationwide power failure until now as a result of the Democrat Party's idiotic green policy of windmills and solar panels manufactured in Communist China.

The pollution of the Chines plants manufacturing the windmills and solar panels are ten times more toxic than natural gas.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yep @1:22, that's the dirty little secret they want to keep hush hush about. Their panels can only be manufactured from rare materials that literally require a gigantic gash across the face of the earth that they can rape. But hey, it produces the progressive wet dream of solar panels so any thing else is just collateral damage
