Aspiring politicos should take note . . . City Hall workers are one of the biggest and most neglected voting blocs in Kansas City.
Targeting their ranks won't turn out well for incumbents.

As Kansas City looks to trim budget, proposal includes early retirements
As Kansas City looks to trim its budget, one proposal includes early retirements.Because of the pandemic's impact on the city's sales tax, the earnings tax and others, city leaders are looking at a $70-million hole.On Wednesday, City Manager Brian Platt told the finance committee that early retirements could save the city a million dollars this year."We think that number will actually end up being much higher," Platt said. There is no solid number yet on the number of city workers that might take one of three different plans.
Worthless Public Works inspectors and street preservation planning analysts should be summarily FIRED without any severance. Fucking dolts.

ReplyDeleteMore like mismanagement of the COVID response. Anyone who believes this was caused by the pandemic itself is a fool. You have an idiot mayor who is clueless and your city officials have wasted tons of money on stupid things and crime. Maybe get rid of the chiefs that will be a good start if the city is so broke. They are a huge waste of money.
Save $5 million a year by quit subsidizing billionaire owners like Clark Hunt with taxpayer funds.
ReplyDeleteI thought the City of KCMO had already laid off all employees in charge of street repairs ten years ago.
ReplyDeleteGet rid the KC health department. We have Jackson County health department. Goodbye Rex and $250,000 salary.
ReplyDeleteI saw the health dept has brand new giant four wheel drive pickup trucks, now what the hell do they need big ass four wheel drive trucks for?
ReplyDeleteI only saw one plan, where’s the other two and do I get to pick from all three!
ReplyDeleteGood thing we have a helicopter to help stop murder. Oh wait. That didn’t happen. Ok how about a helicopter to help stop deadly police chases. Oh wait, that didn’t happen. How about a helicopter to fly around and get engine hours in for your license. Now that’s more like it.
ReplyDeleteNeed to force bald idiot mayors to retire.
ReplyDeleteEarly retirement windows are a common approach to cost cutting, but they typically run up the bills in the first, opt-in year, and save money only n later years. I think Platt is aware of this and should say so.
ReplyDeleteThe tax hole is going to get worse when remote workers, who may work for a KCMO employer but live elsewhere, refuse to pay earnings taxes. The city will sue and lose. Hope Platt has plans for that shortfall.
Fire the assclown in charge of snow and trash removal.
ReplyDelete^^You don't live here, so you don't matter. Go back to Frogville bitch!
ReplyDeleteThe Mayor and chitty council taking pay cuts would help greatly.
ReplyDelete12:33, he's married to a councilwoman, so he's untouchable.
ReplyDeleteYwah, zero experience in the filed and they make him a director because he's banging one of the bosses. Typical Kansas City. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
