Kansas City Dreams Of Downtown Ballpark And East Village Development Free Money

As local propagandists tout the imaginary "East Village" connected to an even more fanatical downtown baseball stadium, don't expect to hear any griping about cash for pro sports like we did for Northland soccer that actually had a biz plan and a reasonable hope for long-term success.

Instead, local "news" supports a cottage industry of hacks who promote these projects that mostly, thankfully rarely come to pass and NEVER deliver the benefits that were initially advertised.

Finalists Named in Prestigious ULI East Village Design Competition, Ballpark in Mix

Four teams of graduate students from top universities throughout North America are finalists in a design competition focused on concepts to redevelop the East Village area of downtown. Two of the submissions include locating a ballpark on the redevelopment site that's been frequently mentioned as a top candidate should the Royals choose ultimately to come downtown.

  2. Pie in the sky nonsensical shit for a dying city. Are they going to move City Union Mission somewhere else because that area has a large transient population?

The grifters will keep trying. They know they can always skim huge bucks off these projects, whether they fail or not. Deny this shitty any more of your money to waste on such bullshit.

DO NOT RENEW THE E-TAX!!!!! IF YOU HAPPEN TO BE CONSERVATIVE, WHITE, OR LIVE
OUTSIDE DOWNTOWN, THOSE DOLLARS GO TO DOWNTOWN INTERESTS, ADMINISTRATION INSIDERS, PEOPLE AND GROUPS WHO HATE YOU. YOU ARE FINANCING YOUR OWN DOWNFALL IF YOU VOTE YES.

  10. And we can all take the toy train to the games and we'll just make no plans for any parking. Do these people actually believe that they are going to get people out of their beloved cars and on to public transportation. Nothing anyone has done has accomplished this goal yet, and I would not be very optimistic that a downtown baseball stadium will change that.

  14. The design looks like shit.

The architect involved should be tied to the back bumper of a KCMO snow plow and dragged through the potholed streets of Kansas City.

Then waterboarded with battery acid water from the KCMO water treatment plant.

If still alive set on fire by BLM on the KCMO City Hall steps and have his pockets looted and BMW car jacked.

Sprint center and power and light district wrecked the idea of commercial viability downtown. And now this. Sad little downtown may be done for after this.
