Kansas City COVID Boomerangs NextGen Back To Parent's Basement

Turns out that free money from Prez Biden isn't going to be enough to avoid economic reality.

The local angle and what might be a renaissance for local blogging:

The Pandemic Has Kansas City Kids Moving Back In With Their Parents

For one Kansas City family, living together again was an easy adjustment. The time at home allowed a son to cultivate a new passion in interior design. Meanwhile, his mother says, "His youth is my energy."

  1. I remember when I worked at DST Systems Inc and was making $6.25 per hour. I lived with my parents and was in my early 20's. My manager asked me when i was going to buy a house and move out. Now who could buy a house in 1989 when your making $6.25 per hour (overtime unpaid). I will never forget the idiotic comment by my manager who was shacking up with a rich guy and had no worries of money.

    $6.25 per hour!

Some people live with their parents because they love them and it makes sense!

  5. Five minutes of this story made my ears bleed. Fruity Pebbles, the budding interior designer, couldn’t lisp a single sentence without inserting the word “like” about three times.

  7. Man, that was kinda depressing to listen to. I don't have any problem with kids living at home, or coming back to home at an intermediate point in life. But holy sheet, I hope I'm raising my boys better than that. We're blue collar though, there will always be room for workers, I hope.

  8. The price of housing needs to go down. Most people can't afford the homes they are getting approved for now anyways.
