After the deadly insurrection at the nation's Capitol this week, Kansas City Democratic Party denizens are focusing their ire on Missouri Senator Hawley and his alleged role in the historic hot mess.
Locals have partners in criticism of the upstart MAGA NEXTGEN leader -- Even AOC has targeted the Missouri politico with rebuke . . .
However, locals are taking it even further . . .
KANSAS CITY INSIDERS, ACTIVISTS AND SOCIAL MEDIA DENIZENS HAVE STARTED NOMINATING CHALLENGERS AGAINST THE MAGA MISSOURI SENATOR!!!
Whilst his term doesn't end until 2025 . . . The outrage against him reached a tipping point in KCMO.
Accordingly, here are a few of the front runners . . .
Jason Kander - His name keeps coming up as a potential challenger; sadly, Mr. Kander has said he won't be running for Senate any time soon and seems far more interested in his work to help homeless veterans.
Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker - She was the former Missouri Democratic Party Chair and was smart enough to quit before the 2020 election rout. Missouri Democrats desperately want to boost her career and this big gamble might be their best shot.
Former KC Mayor Sly James - If the funds are there, this might be the best bet. Mayor Sly has the greatest chance of capturing both KC & STL along with bringing in a few rural voters who might be on the fence . . . He's one of the most charismatic of all the Missouri progressives and by the time an election comes around casual voters might have forgotten his debatable record in this cowtown.
Reality: All of these suggestions are long shots for those who don't think elections are rigged in the Show-Me State and realize the overwhelming GOP hegemony that only seems to be more entrenched despite significant nationwide cultural shifts.
Still, the palpable outrage against Senator Hawley is so great that it has inspired newfound love for these politicos in an effort to focus opposition against the new GOP minority party rising star.
