KANSAS CITY WOULD RATHER FREEZE TO DEATH IN THE COLD THAN WORK TO SOLVE COVID-19 HOMELESS CRISIS!!!

Quick cowtown humanitarian note . . .

TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! AFTER MONTHS OF WARNING KANSAS CITY NOW CONFRONTS DEADLY COVID-19 HOMELESS CRISIS!!!

In fact, for nearly a year local homeless advocates warned that this town's hobo population confronted a horrific threat amid limited resources, space and the worsening pandemic.

Now, two Kansas City homeless people found frozen to death over the weekend confirms the deadly, local homeless catastrophe in the making. Sadly, this town is far too broke and slow to quickly craft a policy solution to help people freezing to death on local streets this Winter.

  1. streetcar needs to offer them shelter.

    Sad.

  2. How about mandatory mental health treatment? They take their meds or go to jail. Naw.....that would actually require politicians to take a stand.

    1. It would also violate their constitutional rights.

    2. Not illegal to be crazy, but all these mentals are committing small crimes that could be used as leverage to force them to take meds. That is not illegal and is done routinely in communities that don't model themselves after third world countries.

    3. Well, the jail system is not a mental health system despite having more mental health people in it than anywhere else.

And let's say you force them to get meds. You've solved today's problem. What about tomorrow when you have to release them?

    4. You violate their probation. They get locked up and you start over. I thought you want to save lives. Saving lives costs time, money and effort. It takes a system willing to work on it. Our leaders like to spend their time and money on toy trains and empty hotels.

  3. ^^How about we end the stupid stereotypes?

  4. Vote Yes on the Earnings Tax renewal, so we can keep spending tax money on entertainment districts, convention centers, convention hotels, parking garages for luxury condos and apartments, toy trains, stadiums and subsidize underperforming TIF's. These are the things the City cares about.

  5. Kansas City would rather paint BLM graffiti on the streets and prostitute their selves to the chiefs rather than help the homeless people.... There fix the headline.

  6. Nobody should freeze to death in KC ever. Whats the city doing about this?

  7. "Sadly, this town is far too broke and slow to quickly craft a policy solution to help people freezing to death on local streets this Winter."

    Exactly.

What we will see in 2021, thanks to the destruction of the economy by way of Democrat lockdowns, shutdowns and curfews, will be the introduction of regular people NOT hooked on drugs or booze who - thanks to Nancy Pelosi didn't get any relief prior to the election and are drowning in debt, depression and desiccated by the hopelessness engendered by greedy Progressive politicians who sacrificed their constituents well being in pursuit of power.

Now, there are renters in the streets, next up, defaults by landlords and they will join there new and old friends in the bread lines, again, so that Progressives could achieve power.

The "Cure" has turned out to be so, so very much worse than the Red Chinese Virus that Joe's friends unleashed on us all.

I guess, in a way, it is egalitarian at it's finest and as more and more succumb to their graves, drugged out, drunked out, suicided out we can tell those DNC-Socialists that finally, we are, as they always wanted, finally Equal In The Democracy Of Death.

  8. The city addressed one virus by painting street murals maybe in the spring Lickass can do it again on his knees.

  11. Nothing like coming to the rescue of the problem that you created and were warned about huh? But hey, KC is a diverse and vibrant city! Be sure to ride the free toy train!

  12. Super Dave made the best comment yesterday and it's the truth. Dave as usual was attack and called stupid more than likely from members of the Mayors staff. Dave isn't stupid and his comment was dead on the truth. The clergy in Kansas City is abound with idiots same as city hall. Look at the BS that Cleaver pulled yesterday.

  13. Feel sorry for the homeless but most are kind of scary without their cardboard signs.

Ever notice every cardboard sign says they are a vet ? Not good advertising for the military.

  14. City Hall is too busy promoting the free streetcar and no time to deal with the less fortunate in our community.

  15. 11:12 AM – you forgot the biggest waste of all. Millions being spent on a free trolley that tourist used to ride. Now the empty streetcars go up and down Main St all day long.

  16. first thing you gotta do...........

    1. determine if you have illegal romanian/russians in the city.

    2. if so, get them to bug out to elsewhere or call authorities.

    3. now you can teach what you have left to work with on how to migrate south
during the cold months and migrate north during the warm months.

  17. I have worked w the homeless for years. You all have good ideas and compassion, however remember those homeless you want to help only have one thing they have control of. That is their ability to chose for themselves. You can not force mental health services or medication on them, no matter how much their mental health needs it. In addition, they, for a variety of reasons chose to live on the streets or in the bushes. I have learned to make offers, but if they refuse, I give them the personal respect to make their own choices, even if it is not what I would choose.

  18. On the upside, if they freeze they won't smell as quickly.

  19. 11:11 am ^^ How about you spend some time around them and figure something out yourself. Excuses are like assholes.

    ReplyDelete
  20. and yet 2:06 failed to notice the hundreds of millions the City gave a football player. Chump chain trolley. You are on the chief crazy train now.

  21. I hope no one is following the example set by our brain dead overly politically correct congress ass named Amen Clever.

  22. Ellington hopes other councilmembers will support his proposal...when he has been the least collaborative of ALL Council representatives! He is stupid or so self-absorbed he doesn't understand how teamwork actually works. He doesn't serve the 3rd District or the city well!
