Kansas City Streetcar Celebrates Free Money

Hipsters at The Pitch have been reduced to picking up press releases from this mode of transit that celebrates handouts from the Feds that don't exactly cover the cost of construction . . . Which will be dutifully handed along to taxpayers.

Check-it . . .

  1. This isn't about events and people getting to and from them. This is about taking BLM and ANTIFA around the city to troll everyone for free. Come on man.

  3. Huge waste of money on 19th century technology!!

And, a burden on midtown taxpayers whose increased property taxes pay for a toy train for Johnson Countians to play City.

Thanks, but No Thanks, Jan Marcason!!

  5. Not much celebrating by regular KCMO folks when the $174 million could be much better spent trying to save small businesses, help people with rent and mortgages, supplement food banks, and increase unemployment benefits.
THE streetcar has been a joke from the beginning and has now become an excuse for any "developer" with no money to get the clueless local electeds to subsidize their "projects".
And the streetcar "authority" has become a self-interested bureaucracy which this clearly demonstrates is mostly interested in perpetuating and endlessly growing its budget and insiders' compensation.
Just like the P&L District is a fiasco that reminds people of the Barnes administration, THE streetcar is the money-sucking black hole from Bowtie the Clown.
    Sad.

  7. With all the needs of KCMO, wasting more money on a trolley for tourist; just doesn’t seem like a good idea.
