KANSAS CITY MAYOR Q FIGHTS TO SAVE E-TAX NOW UNDER LEGAL THREAT!!!

The threat of bankruptcy looms larger over Kansas City now that the greatest source of 12th & Oak revenue is under legal threat.

To wit . . .

SUPREME COURT QUESTION ENDANGERS KANSAS CITY E-TAX!!! MAYOR Q NOW DESPERATE TO RALLY SUPPORT FOR COWTOWN CASH LIFELINE!!!

Here's a preview of the legal debate . . .

New Hampshire's Supreme Court Lawsuit Seeking to Prevent Massachusetts from Taxing NH Residents Working Remotely for Massachusetts Firms

"The case was filed directly in the Supreme Court under its "original jurisdiction" over cases filed by one state against another. It could have important implications for the future of federalism."

Actually, the case could have even bigger implications for Kansas City becoming an empty shell akin to Detroit during its darker days.

In fact, the mayor is so concerned that RIGHT NOW HE'S TALKING UP THE E-TAX VIA ZOOM CALL WITH THE NORTHEAST CHAMBER OF COMMERCE!!!

Depending on the SCOTUS ruling, this bull session might be inconsequential and nothing more than a prelude to the absolute financial decimation of Kansas City via the COVID-19 pandemic.

    2. That's BS. Kagan and Sotomayor don't want Nevada taxing California. Sometimes it's just right vs wrong, not right vs left.

  10. It’s gonna be epic to see what happens to KCMO if this huge slush fund is taken away. Maybe they will have to learn to operate like hundreds of other cities that don’t screw their workforce. Qball is gonna be in so far over his head.

  11. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha Evil has a way of destroying itself right Lucas? Why don't you tax all of your rioters that destroyed the Plaza. They were working in the city now weren't they? Ha Ha Ha Ha

  12. The E Tax is a slush fund for anti-white agendas that are racist in nature and funnel cash into crony coffers of black on white hatred.

  13. Vote Yes on the Earnings Tax renewal, so we can keep spending tax money on entertainment districts, convention centers, convention hotels, parking garages for luxury condos and apartments, toy trains, stadiums and subsidize underperforming TIF's.

  21. It doesn't matter which way the SCOTUS rules in this case. The wording of KC's e-tax ordinance is clear enough. Those working remotely from home during the pandemic are not liable for KCMO taxes because the ordinance says so.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Even if KC changes their ordinance I doubt they can collect the E tax from non residents. Look for Jefferson City to get involved if they even try. But in the end I would guess the courts would overule the city anyway. If KC pursues this look for Kansas to try and tax Kansas City companies on part of their profits if the company employees work in Kansas.

  23. Reasons to locate a business in KCMO: Low crime - no. Good roads - no. Prompt snow removal - no. Lots of technically savvy residents to hire - no.

The City is in a bind. There are no good reasons for businesses that are not here already to locate here. And there is an outright deterrent - the e-tax.

KCMO has become dependent on the flow of e-tax revenues like a heroin addict depends on his next fix. And it's gradually disappearing. The city should be finding good reasons to build a business in Kansas City, not giving a good reason not to.

Tens of thousands of Americans are being murdered by Biden's inaction and playing politics.

Based on KC low IQ voter history, I have no faith they have gotten smarter.

However, if I'm surprised, and we get a no vote on continuing the E-Tax, the shitty is surely headed down the drain.

The upside is, it just might be enough for the Northland to secede and create their own city. With Dementia Saudi Joe as pres, I think the sentiment would support the effort. Put gates on the North end of the bridges and require a passport to cross. ^^boi would stay in the zoo, and Byron would be in the Northeast.

  30. Kill the tax now! Plenty of rich White people can chip in and save Kansas City while they transition away from e-tax.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Wouldn't this be an interesting event. It would certainly stress the already fractured budget to implosion levels. I know millie has no concept of budget or fiscal responsibility, but here is a chance to watch what happens when a government runs out of other people's money. It's a long process, but when tax rev is down, then to bonds, and when they come due??? Bad mojo. I'm long gone from the City though, kin still hanging on to their dismay.

    ReplyDelete
  32. KCMO government cannot survive with only tax revenue from residents and businesses within the city's boundaries.
    It's really just that simple.
Someone needs to sit down with smiley selfies kneely Lucas and review some of the basic math classes that perhaps he skipped out on while he was dummying up his resume.
People in KCMO are really tired of watching their money wasted on nonsense and the folks around the metro are more than sick of being shaken down for the e-tax.
Of course, the renewal will be passed by the same KCMO voters who elect people like Bunch, Lucas, Robinson, and the rest of the current menagerie.
    Sad.
