Of course and even in the midst of COVID harsh times Kansas City started the 2021 with a bang. Several of them actually.
We talked about the spate of gunfire yesterday but the final word on the topic belongs to 12th & Oak leader Mayor Quinton Lucas inasmuch as his plea to skip celebratory gunfire was largely ignored.
Check-it . . .
Fox4: 'It's stupid': Gunshots ring out in KC to celebrate New Year, leaving city leaders frustrated
Money line . . .
Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas said this tradition is insanity. “I don’t understand it. It’s stupid. Put your guns down. There’s no reason to shoot up in the air. The bullet goes up, right. It comes back down. And in the past, it has killed young people in Kansas City,” Lucas said.
Stat round-up . . .
KCMO police received 271 calls reporting gunshots on New Year's Eve. Shot Spotter, a system that identifies the sound of gunfire, registered 240 gunshot sounds in the city. In total, around 1,600 rounds were fired, police said.
Twelve homes had bullets fly through them. Officials said that's more than usual.
Nevertheless . . .
IT'S LIKELY THAT KANSAS CITY WILL FORGET THE STERN REBUKE AGAINST CELEBRATORY GUNFIRE BY JULY 4TH AND/OR EVEN SOONER IF THE CHIEFS WIN ANOTHER SUPER BOWL!!!
Developing . . .
The mayor is entitled to his opinion. Very few people like the shooting. He seems good at offering a quote but not a solution.
ReplyDeleteWhat areas were the gunshots in? Mayor their is no crime in KC.
ReplyDeleteWhy not force the ammo manufacturers to tetool so 100 feet is the maximum distance all bullets fly? See, that was easy.
ReplyDeleteOf course, the vast majority of the shooting comes from one particular "community".
ReplyDeleteJust like the "tradition" in Detroit of burning down vacant houses, of which there are many thousands.
Oddly enough, the majority of murders take place among the same group.
Maybe someone can figure all this out!
He needs to tell the neighborhoods that all City handouts will stop unless the murder and shootings decrease. IE Close all 18th and Vine fundings, Close the Linwood Grocery, stop funding of all ad hoc violence charities, stop funding of Jazz Museum.
ReplyDeleteBut then, no possible way he's re-elected.
ReplyDeleteAin't gonna do dat.
ReplyDeleteBut isn't it funny I just read from TJ Maxx CEO on their homepage, where TJ Maxx and it's sister companies Sierra Trading, Home Goods, and Marshall's are giving to every black organization and is being racist to anyone who is not black. If you haven't read it I would suggest you go into their website and click on it. Very disturbing to know they are into policing and politics and divisive to all other races. Boycott TJ Maxx and it's sister companies they don't want your business if you are not black.
Publically traded companies that do that at their unrepresented shareholders expense should be taken off the market. Activism on other peoples retirement needs to be punished.
DeleteHe throws a fit over some people shooting guns in the air celebrating New Years but doesn’t say jack shit about the new world record for murders that his people are responsible for....
ReplyDelete^^^ shhhhh, you can’t talk about the murderous blacks, that’d be racist...... roflmao!
ReplyDeleteDa mayor be black so he be as useless as the rest of dem is. You can only be guaranteed one thing when it comes to black people, they ruin everything they touch.
^^Just like the geriatrics!!!
ReplyDeleteQuinton could hear those gunshots all the way out in a gay bar in Lawrence?
ReplyDelete2021: selling single cigarettes is still illegal.
ReplyDeleteYou think BLM would put that on their list of demands, but it isn't like many other suspiciously missing demands. A con of tobacco industry not to allow sale of single cigarettes. Can people buy a single beer or are they required to buy a six pack?
Mayor Q should have waited to get his COVID vaccine until all KCMO nursing home residents got theirs. Not cool.
ReplyDeleteCan you buy a little itty bitty bottle of vodka for 99 cents or are you required to buy 1.75L for 22.95?
ReplyDeleteCan you go to a bar and trust the establishment to serve a single shot or you have to buy 20 shots?
ReplyDeleteTOP PHOTO -- MAYOR Q BLOWS WINDY CITY
ReplyDeleteChicago 2020 Homicides = 769
Chicago Population = 2.706 million (2018)
KCMO 2020 Homicides = 174
KCMO Population = 491,918 (2018)
Adjusted for population differences, KCMO actually has a higher homicide rate than Chicago!!!
I wanna know right now!
ReplyDeleteShutup 10:43 the topic has changed for this thread.
ReplyDeleteThe words, "I don’t understand it. It’s stupid." are words that apply very well to many things the Mayor himself has done. Before calling someone else out on being stupid one must take a hard look at what they have done to make sure the same words don't fit their actions first.
ReplyDeleteSuper Dave FTW!
ReplyDeleteIt’s apparent mayor mcdumbo can only blame and criticize everybody else but can’t be critical of himself, how very black of him!
It’s a black thang!.....
How very coddled too much by his mommy male.
ReplyDeleteWhen he said it's stupid was he referring to his tenure as mayor, his Nazi approach to covid or his political philosophy? PRO TIP Q: The answer is all of the above. RESIGN!
ReplyDeleteIs BLM going to continue to commemorate each murder with a big red X in the street at each murder ?
ReplyDeleteGo BLM Go
Look at it this way, there are 7 million new gun owners just since March, if they only bought 100 rounds of ammo each, that comes out to a grand total of 700 million rounds.....
ReplyDeleteNow just imagine how much ammo the hoodrats have!
Imagine if you passed out from too much booze or drugs and got sodomized by a woman.
ReplyDeleteAn xx woman, not an xy or an xxy woman.
ReplyDeleteThis is fun.
ReplyDeleteWhy can't I buy just one Depends instead of a box of 20 Depends ?
Because the Man says so !
Let's be friends,
China Joe Biden
You white folks are a bunch of heathens.
ReplyDeleteLet the fire go!
ReplyDeleteNearly 50 people dead from COVID at John Knox Village, and this guy goes and gets the vaccine before those people in greater need and worst threat to die.
ReplyDeletecorrection ... "worse threat"
ReplyDeleteThe vaccine will protect you from getting ill and then ending up hospitalized. But it's possible that you could still carry the virus and be contagious to others. So those who get the vaccine should still be wearing masks and practicing physical distancing.
ReplyDelete912 nails it.
ReplyDeleteDo you think this the show The 100?
ReplyDeleteMY PEOPLE!
I wouldn't claim any of you.
