How Many Coffee Shops Will Kansas City Spill Upon Streetcar Extension?!?

Given that the American consumer economy is dominated by fast food and junk ordered from Amazon, it's unclear how the new toy train line will prosper given the financial devastation in the aftermath of the pandemic.

Thankfully, KC has a solution leftover from the streetcar starter line: COFFEE SHOPS!!!

Not sure how the economics of it work (they don't) but apparently a hipster coffee shop placed at 15 feet intervals signals both vibrancy and density - The demand of amateur urban planners and failed architects across the globe.

Accordingly, here's an open spot and one of many SOON-TO-BE-EMPTY businesses along the corridor that will be transformed into a java dispensary OR luxury condos . . . Maybe a medical marijuana outlet.

Midtown dealership site on future streetcar route is for sale - Kansas City Business Journal

When it comes to real estate activity adjacent to Kansas City's southern streetcar extension, the hits just keep on comin'. Colliers International recently listed for sale two tracts totaling 5.36 acres at 3200 Main St., housing Main Street Buick GMC's dealership and auto body shop.

  1. Not only bohemian coffee shops Tony,
but also twenty five year old white girls walking their little dogs around

that is what makes a Vibrant City. This is Momentum

these two things are what make the Creative Class want to come here and if you attract the Creative Class then you start pooping out ten karat diamonds for free

a guy got a PhD saying so, and KCMO borrowed hundreds of millions of dollars based on it! Hard to say who is stupider, Richard Florida for his Creative Class idea, or Tom Friedman for his 'countries with mcdonalds don't start wars' idea.

  2. The Main Street bars that don't have a back entrance and rely on liquor being delivered through their front doors will suffer because those delivery trucks are too wide to fit between the curb and the streetcar rails. Same for any other business that relies on trucks for deliveries. They might as well just close off Main Street to car traffic since the streetcar will make it one big mall.

OUTSIDE DOWNTOWN, THOSE DOLLARS GO TO DOWNTOWN INTERESTS, ADMINISTRATION INSIDERS, PEOPLE AND GROUPS WHO HATE YOU. YOU ARE FINANCING YOUR OWN DOWNFALL IF YOU VOTE YES.
