Former Hipster Pundit Demands Name Change For Victorious Kansas City Chiefs

Quick fact check for a local pundit on her high horse this morning.

Back when CJ ran The Pitch it was the whitest publication in town and pretty much ignored every "diverse" community in Kansas City.

Now, that times have changed and progressives realize that can't win elections without co-opting people of color . . . Apparently, CJ is now a champion for minority communities.

Her latest screed starts by admitting she's about 15 years late to this story as she "white knights" in order to play party-pooper on behalf of a Democratic Party blog that begs for 50-buck-per-month donations from readers in order to power their next losing candidate.

Check-it . . .

What if we listened to the people who've spent 15 years protesting the Kansas City NFL team's name | Kansas Reflector

We're not going to debate whether Kansas City's NFL team should change its name. It should. What we're going to do, as the team and its fans celebrate their second trip to the Super Bowl in as many years, is spend a couple of minutes listening to the people who've been peacefully protesting before games near an entrance to Arrowhead Stadium since long before the team was a contender for anything.

  8. I support the NFL and there’s nothing you can do about you pussy! Go Chiefs! Fuck the miserable CHUDS in their tight asses!

  9. Chief is an anglicized name anyway. One that "we" gave to the leader of the Indians. They had a word for their leaders, but nothing that resembled chief. So, no cultural appropriation here. Maybe if they were the Kansas City Sachams they could claim appropriation, which phonetically sounds good anyway.

  10. You'd end up with a Biden administration if you listened to them. Oh wait! Never mind! They are right. The NFL needs to go. Screw renaming.

  11. We did listen, C.J. We just disagree that an empty virtue signaling gesture is worth it. And many Native Americans are Chiefs fans.

It's so complicated when you want to do symbols over substance.

  12. Lamar Hunt chose the name Chiefs as an homage to his buddy, the Mayor of KCMO. Mayor Bartle was known as the Chief.

  13. Libs and their incessant whining. Keep it up simps and you too 8:17.

  16. I doubt that any of the protesters are actual elected leaders of American Indian nations. Those who are real Indians presume without authority to speak for their leaders. Those who are not enrolled members of Indian nations are simply more white folks arrogantly informing the real Indians what they should want. White supremacy on stilts.

  17. like someone said, "chief" isn't too offensive, and it's not even really specific to indians. not at all like clevaealnd or washington's mascots.

how about the chieftains? and do up the scottish stereotype big time bc no one will bitch about that group being portrayed negatively or whatever

the modern day residents of this community have a lot more to do with scottish ancestry than american indian ancestry anyway. those of us living in Kansas, up til 1854 this was "indian territory" yet today I've never one time seen an indian walking around. so white society replaced the indians, its just time we forget all about the indians, i guess is what the uber conscientious liberals want us to do

  18. The word Chief dates back to 1300 in the Old French. It was not even applied to Indian leaders until 1713 which was after the military term Commnder-in-Chief whose first known usage was in 1660. What if we listened to people who had an actual education instead of the perpetual agitators that the Red Star prefers?

  19. 3:18 i think the french traders and trappers were a bit more accepting of allowing the red man to have something of his own, and the french traders penetrated deep into the territory too. hundreds of years before lewis and clark, marquette and joliet and others - to say nothing of the missionaries.

so imagine if france had been strong and the united states stopped at the misssissippi river. and today west of the mississippi river there would be indian nations of numerous millions speaking french ...

don't get me wrong the french weren't perfect - look what they did to san domingo, but just saying, our narrative is only the god chosen english speaking americans could have possibly put a modern country on this north american land mass, but, alternate scenarios are possible

  20. The French were the Indians' commercial friends only. They needed the Indians to trap beaver and other animals for the fur trade. The furs were then sold to French voyageurs and transported back to Paris via Quebec.

For a view of what the French were like when they did not need subject people to be their friends, see Haiti and the other originally French colonies in the Caribbean, or Algeria, Ivory Coast and other parts of Africa.

  21. The French were hated in Indo-China as the Vietnamese kicked them out after a bloody colonial war from 1945 to 1954.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The Louisiana Territory was originally French but through geopolitics and the need to finance the Napoleonic wars ended up in Washington D.C.’s hands. Ces’t la vie!

    ReplyDelete
  23. if you're feeling like france did wrong in their colonial holdings, then the wronged colonial people are well-avenged by how badly france suffers today, being inundated by north africans who don't respect french history people culture law religion etc.

one million muslim knights await in france, for the sign, to succeed where they were thwarted by charles martel before

but you and i obviously see the world different, and the historical world different, too

    ReplyDelete
  24. "... only the god chosen english ..." - Say what?

The Native Americans have made their feelings known, & their objections will be ignored, because no one is more arrogant than the white man.

    ReplyDelete
  25. If not for naming things after American Indians, which by the way "Chiefs" is not, their existence would be forgotten. They built next to nothing, invented nothing wrote nothing. They would still be eating each other and digging holes with sticks to shit in if WHITE men had never showed up.
