When the weather warms up I want to see this engineering marvel that is the Independence Ave bridge. I have been enjoying the news coverage on this bridge for awhile. What I don't understand is why this keeps happening with all the coverage on TV, radio, print, and internet sites like this one. One would think that trucking companys would make a note to inform the drivers not to drive on that road anymore.

  4. Trucking companies use notoriously out of date software in their GPS. We had a 53 footer turn down our narrow residential street trying to follow his company software to an address that didn't exist (on it), but in fact has been in industrial usage with address for at least four years now 6 miles in the opposite direction. His personal phone clearly showed the address and even the company name, but he was a driver for swift. I would bet google maps has some sort of height warning label on this bridge, but not for certain.

  5. Ouch! Crap...I hit my head on that same pipe in my basement. Guess I'll blame the pipe and pay to tear all the plumbing out of my house.
