TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! BLUE LINE BAR LAUNCHES LAWSUIT AGAINST NEW KANSAS CITY COVID-19 CURFEW RULES!!! MAYOR QUINTON LUCAS SPELL CHECKS & CALLS COMPLAINT SLOPPY!!!

The Kansas City mayor's initial response to legal resistance that our blog community noted a couple of weeks ago . . .

"Can’t even get my name spelled right..."

He offered a bit more detail later . . .

“To contend that we don’t care, we aren’t cognizant of it misses the mark entirely,” Lucas said. “However, we want people to be alive, we want people to be safe, and that’s why these orders exist.”

The crux of the lawsuit . . .

The Blue Line Kansas City says the restrictions, which require bars and restaurants to close by 10 p.m., has cost it about 40% of its monthly revenue.

The bar claims that if it is forced to close at 10 p.m. instead of 3 a.m., it will be forced to lay off staff or close its doors.

The Blue Line said it has been safely operating, requiring patrons and staff to wear masks and adhering to 50% capacity during the pandemic. In addition, the bar said that it pays a premium to the city and state for a liquor license that allows it to serve food and alcohol until 3 a.m. The bar also argues that casinos, liquor stories, movie theaters and other stores are allowed to stay open past 10 p.m.

  1. his curfew is based on nothing.

It's not scientific. It's punitive. And he's not the legal expert that he represents himself to be.

Said the man who's been using a false name throughout his adult life.

Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District.
STATE of Missouri, ex rel. Quinton D. LUCAS, et al., Appellants, v. Thomas O. WILSON, et al., Respondents.
    No. WD 53699.
    Decided: January 20, 1998

    I. Facts

Quinton Lucas (“Quinton”) was born to Quintanella Lucas (“Mother”) on August 19, 1984.   At the time, Mother was married to Ricardo Lucas (“Lucas”).   Mother testified that Lucas began an eighteen-year prison term in 1982 or 1983.   It appears that Ricardo Lucas was in prison at the time Quinton was conceived.   This marriage was dissolved on November 28, 1990.   On May 4, 1995, the State filed a petition on the behalf of Quinton for the declaration of paternity and for support under the Uniform Parentage Act (“UPA”), § 210.817 et seq., RSMo 1994, in Jackson County Circuit Court.   The petition alleged that either Lucas or Thomas Wilson (“Wilson”) was the natural father of Quinton.   Wilson filed an answer in which he denied all counts.   Lucas never answered.   Blood tests excluded Lucas as the father and reported Wilson's probability of paternity as 99.85%. A second blood test reported that Wilson had a 99.99% probability of paternity.

  6. When mayor mcdumbo starts acting like a scared five year old for being called out for doing something wrong. The bombs are hitting the target!

What he doesn’t understand is half of this city voted for Trump and we pay attention and defend our rights, the dimwit followers are like mindless robots, they just do what they’re told without any regards for their rights, matter of fact, they’re so well trained they just smile and say thank you sir may I have another! Hahahahaha!

  7. Too bad the courts are "friendly" to city hall.

There is a lot wrong with the curfew. It's dangerous to enforce arbitrary rules like that. Hope the court can see it's way past the panic and fear.

  8. 7:36, there is no way that the earnings tax will be voted down. Local takers will not pass up a chance to fleece non local makers. Free other peoples' money. While it lasts.

  10. Moron Quinton Lucas is trying to be a hero in the eyes of the globalists and the idiot doesn't know what he's doing. He's going to bankrupt the city with lawsuits and ruin small business. Unless of course he's trying to run white business out of town to get black business in. He talks out of both sides of his mouth. One minute he preaches support local then he tries to close them down. Typical black liberal......Bat Shit Crazy.

  11. The rules will stand. This is a public health emergency and the mayor is doing the right thing. We are lucky that we have a leader who is making tough decisions and more concerned about saving lives FIRST. Shame on you people who want to expose people to more danger.

Thank you Mayor Quinton Lucas for guiding our city through this time. You are keeping this city safe from those who want to endanger others just to make more money.

    1. You're working late tonight, lickspittle.

As everyone knows, this mayor is a public joke that gets less funny by the day. His nauseating self-promotion is only matched by his gross incompetence in managing important and complicated systems.

      Perfect professor material.

    2. Public health emergency my ass. More like media hysteria.

The fake plague is less deadly than the flu.

Practically no one without another comorbidity gets sick or dies. Over 99.99 survival rate under 70.

The media is corrupt and the enemy.

    3. where is the data from the scientific study that shows people are safer prior to 10pm?
Small businesses were closed down and people are losing their jobs. The mayor isn’t keeping anyone safe. He is in a power trip. Sadly not everyone can recognize it for what it is.

  19. Hey gopher boi, when will the mayor come out and say we’re doing a good job of keeping our numbers really low instead of intimidating and scaring people to death with his lies about the virus? Less than a half a percent of the population having active cases is damn good and you know it.

Quit acting like the whole damn city isn’t wearing masks while you’re at it. Effing moron.

By the way, I know what the numbers are, I keep track daily so don’t start spreading lies about thanksgiving being a super spreader event either. We are watching.

  26. Mayor Wilson - Who be your Daddy ?

Mayor Wilson should be more concerned of contracting AIDS with his lifestyle than shutting down small businesses and churches over Covid - 19 which is as lethal as the flu.

  27. John Hopkins study shows total United States deaths in 2020 of ALL causes are the same as any other year;

basically deaths normally attributed to heart failure and other respiratory ailments have been reclassified as Covid-19 for hospitals and nursing homes to receive $100,000 plus for taking care of a Covid patient.

The Corporate media hysteria over Corona Virus was politically driven to hurt President Trump.

  29. mask requirements make sense

    distancing makes sense,

trying to avoid crowds makes sense

but the 10pm rule, I don't understand exactly. people getting too drunk after that time and casting aside cautions? maybe ...

just hope these places can make it thru. midtown will get ugly fast, like back in 08 and09, so many vacancies.

    ReplyDelete
  30. There is not a single bit of scientific evidence that demonstrates a person has a greater chance of catching a virus after 10 pm than before. He only imposed that rule because he is not smart enough to do anything other than copy his hero, DeBlasio of NYC. That is another mayor with a fake name.
