TKC READER: WELCOME TO THE THUNDER DOME AS 'SIDESHOWS' SPARK MAD MAX REALITY ON KANSAS CITY STREETS!!!

As always, we appreciate a good movie reference in our discourse about this town.

Here's the word following a Downtown Kansas City "sideshow" that sparked fear among residents paying top dollar to live amid illicit drag races . . .

"We're getting a look at what happens when the police can't respond or maintain order out of fear of reprisal. Does anybody believe that the cops wouldn't face punishment if they broke up one of these "sideshows" and arrested people??? Guess what, the organizers know that too and now they're openly showing their disregard for the law. It will only get worse. It looks like Mad Max out there and because so many of our elected officials don't support the police, control of the streets is now in doubt."

To be fair, KCPD has asked the public for help in identifying the cars seen doing doughnuts and blocking traffic downtown.

While it's certain they didn't receive a single tip . . . At least upcoming cold weather might slow down these motorist antics.

Developing . . .

  4. This is just an extra bit of sophisticated entertainment for the creatives and young "professionals" who live in their "luxury" downtown apartments.
The Murphy cattle drive downtown has long been gone and young can get knee-walking drunk at the P&L District only so many times, so screeching tires is about the best you can hope for.
And watching the empty streetcar slowly go past.
    And it's all FREE!
    Frosty!

  6. The Shitty Clowncill began this hurried degradation this spring aided by the Mayor. When they disregarded tickets for being in the street and changed ordinances to protect protestors they told the city to do what they wanted. On the same street the burnouts occurred there are protestors blocking the streets every Friday night.

Just how are cops supposed to handle these disturbances when they get thrown under the bus for doing anything? One cop I know said even if they did respond the cars would just speed away and they aren’t allowed to chase anymore so there isn’t anything they can do about it.

  8. Let's see here, you've got a good portion of the city closed down and the police won't and can't do anything in these situations. I don't see a problem. It's Kansas City after all!

    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  10. Folks are under the impression that the police can stop crime. Whuuut???
How? Not possible to stop someone from doing what they want. They can moan about it after the fact, but stopping it? Nope.

  15. Your town has degenerated for years and years into a total shithole. Look at it now. Worse than St. Louis. Worse than Cleveland. Maybe even worse than Detroit ... no, definitely worse than Detroit ... Detroit only has a few residents who can still afford cars.

Anybody buying and actually living in a high-rise condo in Kansas City is out of their fucking mind.

  16. IF the KCMO police are seeking to identify those participating in this activity, just look at what is available ...

There are cameras everywhere... recording all foot and auto traffic.
