TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! JACKSON COUNTY PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE 2020 HOMICIDE CASE REVIEW BACKLOG EXPOSED!!!

This note is one of the most informed, important and revealing offerings of data-driven journalism shared with our blog community.

We've only edited a few words and highlighted this important Kansas City fact amid our record-breaking 2020 homicide spike that continues to worsen.

Here's the word . . .

Homicide Cases “Under Prosecutor Review”

As we approach the end of 2020, the local news may or may not highlight the homicide count at the end of the year.  We know that at 171 and counting, the city surpassed the old record a while ago.

What hasn’t been covered is that since October, KCPD’s Daily Homicide Analysis which is updated each day, has shown 20+ cases current at the “Prosecutors Office” for review.  The latest analysis shows that number to be 24.  This number has not been below 20 since early October.

These cases are those where a suspect has been identified and a probable cause statement has been submitted for charging that suspect.  While I understand that every case and defendant deserves due process and agree that no one should be charged with a crime unless probable cause exists, the fact that this many cases, this many suspected murderers are still out on the streets pending “review” of cases for at least two months is ridiculous.

Presumably, since the majority of these homicides have occurred in Jackson County and many of the homicides north of the river have been solved and charged, JPBs (Jean Peters Baker's) office seems to be dragging their feet at the expense of the public perception that it is the police who are solely responsible for the crime in the city.

The public should know why so many cases (20+) have been “under review” for any extended time period, especially 30,60, or 90+ days.  As I said, every case and possible future defendant deserves due process and a case review before charges are filed but the question has not been asked and this critical issue has not been raised to Jean and her office by the local media or other stakeholders in this city.

  1. There's a lot of blame to go around this year. it's a shame that we don't have a newspaper that reports this. Thanks Tk.

      What's a newspaper?

I do think the TV stations do a decent job of covering this stuff but they don't have the time to really get into the numbers. Thanks to those who sent this to TKC.

    2. I understand that Jean gets a lot of the blame. But what about all of those judges who let criminals go through a revolving door.

That's also a very big problem.

  2. Amazing that this worthless POS will show her face in the city she helped destroy.

  3. This is a deliberate move by JPB to allow the murderers to have time to intimidate any potential witnesses that might testify against them later in court. She believes that there are too many black people in jail for NO REASON whatsoever (except white racism) and will avoid putting any more away at all costs. The victims of the criminals are just collateral damage. This is why people don't snitch in my neighborhood.

Did you vote against her? Doubt it, she won BY A LOT! Sorry losers.

  6. Your source has misinterpreted this data quite badly.

    Maliciously, almost.

  7. Ironically, Jackson County does not prosecute property crimes either, so what is it that they do all day?

  8. The most transparently useless and politically motivated 'prosecutor' in our history. It would be a shame for Jean to have to pretend to do her job. Maybe a cop will get caught jaywalking so she can use her zeal for justice.

A walking disgrace with blood on her hands.

  9. A testament to the stupidity of JaCoMo voters. If the county was on fire, they’d vote to hose it down with kerosene, then bitch about the flames.

  10. Can we get a breakdown by race of the accused and the victims?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Shame y'all didn't vote her out of office if she's so incompetent. I thought for sure Tony's Kansas City readers would be marching with their pitchforks!

Guess a substantial number of people think she's doing a good job, right?

    Jackson County Prosecutor
    100% of precincts reporting

    Tracey Chappell (R) 130,224 41&

    Yep. Pretty much.

  12. Speed up the death penalty. Convert some of the unused cave space to a new jail.if these animals know they will serve their whole sentence maybe we can get some peace.

  13. ^^^ now that’s funny and true right there!

    Go team blm! Hahahahaha!

  14. The real shame is the black community voted for a white woman over an extremely smart and very competent black woman.

I work in the hood all day every day and it’s really funny that all of Tracey Chappell’s signs she put up would disappear the very same day they were put up, one unbelievable example of how crooked and brazen Petersucker and her group of bandits are is on the day of the election at the community center on cleaver and Cleveland all her signs were removed, well, all signs that were for people the dimwit party were against disappeared from the voting site.... amazing how only dimwit party members signs were the only ones left in plain site.

  15. Love this counties incompetence. So glad I moved here. Astronomical water bills, horrible school district and no-end property tax increases. Now I find out this stupid woman lets known suspects intimidate victims for up to 2 months while she shuffles paperwork at the courthouse. I guess that sounds about par for the course.

  16. ^^^ don’t think for one minute that jpb didn’t cheat in this election because of the fact that she “supposedly” got 180,000 votes which seems totally unbelievable for the county.

Remember, she’s a George soros paid for puppet.

    1. Yes 12:37, I know, every election your side doesn't win is a fraud.

Except it never is, and you going on and on about it doesn't make it so.

      Trump lost.

  20. There is a trucker who hates lawyers so much he always runs them over with his truck whenever he sees one. One day he sees a priest hitchhiking and decides to give a ride to the holy man. As they go along the road, the trucker spots a lawyer by the side of the road and steers to run him over. At the last minute he remembers the priest in the truck and swerves away hoping to avoid judgment of his sins.

He says "I'm sorry father, I don't know what came over me!"

The priest replies, "Don't worry, I got him with the door!"

  22. Jean is a decent human being. The only thing wrong with her is, she is easily the weakest, worst prosecutor in the entire history of prosecutors. She is absolutely not worth a fuck. She is a nice person, though. But definitely a piece of shit prosecutor.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Why do people call her Jean Petersucker Baker?

    ReplyDelete
  24. It's because of all the men on here with the mental acuity of third-graders. Name calling is all they have, and not very clever name calling at that. Peters is her middle name, and "peter" is a slang term for the penis, something they so obviously lack to any great degree.

  25. She is a large reason for the crime in our fine city. Worthless is being nice.

  26. She worries more about the nude photo that her former lover Caleb Clifford took of her. Otherwise, he will be in big trouble rather than just having her mad at him.

  28. Jean is a smutty little lady, which is why she keeps her bod. She finds her hubby sick.

  30. What a terrible person she is. Yes, judges are also guilty of allowing the murderers to walk free and threaten witnesses, but the prosecutor is the gate-keeper. The high percentage of votes for her puzzles me. So glad I live in Kansas.

  31. The political bosses are happy with the prosecutor

  32. High as fuck murder rate and the Petersucker continues smiling. Weird
