What has been even more disappointing is the social media effort to demonize bar owners and people who work at locally owned places as they fight for their jobs that are quickly disappearing and will likely never come back.
Since the KCMO COVID curfew was enacted we've noted more than a dozen local places closing and more than 500 jobs (and counting) lost amid the holidays.
If the pandemic has taught us anything it's that "buy local" hype doesn't always hold up for many consumers when times get tough . . . Sadly, so many of our seemingly progressive friends don't have much sympathy for people who question continually evolving rules in a fight for their livelihood.
