Newsflash: Jackson County Jail Remains Dirty, Nasty & Dangerous Amid COVID-19

The Jackson County jail has been a horrific dump for years. Human rights abuses against the facility are longstanding.

The disgusting condition of the jail should provide a deterrent to crime given that even a speeding ticket unpaid could put an average resident at risk of disgusting and potentially deadly jail house time . . . Today the newspaper offers inmate perspective and we only wonder if they'll hold Exec Frank White accountable for the ongoing atrocity that has garnered consistent complaints.

  1. The Sheriff is doing his best to quarantine the sick ones. Every jail in the country is facing the same problem.

  6. Sounds like it would be a good deterrent not to partake in criminal activity. Jail is not supposed to be pleasant.

  9. Why do we care about prisoners? If you end up there it’s your own fault because your stupid. Let it be nasty and disease ridden like it is other countries. Sorry I don’t feel bad for prisoners, I guess if I committed crimes and blamed society for my actions I would be more understanding.

  13. Jackson County doesn't pay their vendors for cleaning products and services provided so things don't get cleaned.
