Anybody with a roof over their head, a phone and some sort of Internets connection doesn't really have to worry about this one. HOWEVER, the library mostly serves as a place for hosting hobos and after earning a recent tax boost, they're rejecting their most avid clientele during a crisis and out of an abundance of caution.

KC Public Library going on 'winter break' in response to pandemic
KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -- Due to concerns about COVID-19 being transmitted during the holidays, the Kansas City Public Library will be closing all their locations from Christmas Eve until Jan. 3. The branches will close at their normal time on Wednesday, Dec. 23. They will reopen on Monday, Jan.
I've never been a fan of how the library has been run. But Covid is running rampant. It won't do the homeless any good to catch it. And closing down during the holidays reinforces the fact getting together for the holidays this year is very dangerous for everyone.
ReplyDeleteThe library should not be a derelict day care. They stink, they take up chairs and study space, and they are loud and unruly. Bus them to a tent city somewhere. Taxpayer-patrons should be more important to the public library than the "homeless."

ReplyDeleteLibrary needs to mandate a library card for admission. Except that WOULD require an address... Cool. Problem solved.
