Kansas City Cinema Comeback Despite COVID-19 And Overnight Movies

Yes, one of our all-time favorite models is ACTUALLY named Abi Titmus and tonight her love of the cinema inspires us to share a hopeful headline . . .

Fox4: Area movie theaters will be open for Christmas blockbusters, bucking nationwide trend

Deets . . .

"It could be the busiest day since the pandemic for Kansas City-area theaters at a time when the majority of theaters across the nation have shut down for a second time or never reopened. But because of the changing landscape of movies, theaters are now facing new competition from direct to streaming releases of movies . . . Theaters around the metro have remained open since they began showing movies again over the summer. The good news is it’s been easy to social distance, but they haven’t been making much money."

As always, we want our blog community to stay safe because reality can be a lot scarier than anything on the screen.

And so, this bit of holiday hope inspires our late night peek at local movie clips that share a unique perspective about this cowtown.

Local Help For Holidays

The Neighborhood Farmshare Coordinator for Kansas City Food Hub, tells us about the organization.

Winning Over History

“He didn’t have a prejudiced bone in his body.” J.L. Wilkinson, a diminutive white man from Algona, Iowa became the only white owner in the Negro Leagues behind the testimony of Buck O’Neil. The rest was history as Wilkinson and the Kansas City Monarchs went on to become the NLB’s most decorated franchise.

Christmas Spirit Overnight

Full of delight, humor, and tenderness, Amahl and the Night Visitors is a holiday story for the whole family. Three traveling kings, following the star to Bethlehem, stop for the night at a humble home of a shepherd boy, Amahl, and his mother. As Amahl entertains the guests, he offers his own simple gift to the Christ child and learns the miracle of true generosity.

Hopefully, more for the morning update . . . STAY TUNED!!!

  3. Not a damn thing Q ball can do about shutting down the Chinese owned amc theaters, he will ruin his political future if he goes up against the very people running the media and the dimwit party.

It’ll be fun to see how he squirms out of not shutting them down but pulls the doom and gloom dark winter narrative for ruining everybody’s Christmas with the whole super spreader event that will kill everybody in your family and over loading the hospitals bullshit again.
