This cowtown had big plans to attract airline biz before the pandemic. Now, the industry has been DECIMATED by COVID-19. It'll be while before a triumphant return and for now the somewhat friendly skies of KCMO remain in a holding pattern.

KCI reports nearly 63% drop in passenger traffic in November
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City International Airport continued to report lower passenger traffic in November, even with a bump in travel over the Thanksgiving holiday. The Kansas City, Missouri, Aviation Department said Thursday that 340,342 passengers traveled through KCI's gates in November, a nearly 63% decrease from November 2019.
I guess we won’t be needing that new airport now.
