Because the body discovered this morning was basically a barely recognizable bloody pulp, police methodically investigated a bevy of evidence at a blocked off early morning crime scene.
Officers responded to the area of E 45th St. and Emanuel Cleaver Blvd. on reports of a dead body. When they arrived, they found an adult male dead.
The body was so badly broken that authorities are also investigating a hit & run vehicular homicide but so far no determination about the cause of death has been shared with the public.
Authorities are slow to officially declare this a murder given that the local homicide crisis is quickly spiraling out of control and the rate of historic violence has started to erode public confidence in law enforcement . . . Meanwhile, to most, it's obvious that po-po are doing the very best job that they can given unprecedented resistance to law enforcement and an astonishing lack of cooperation from the community.
