"The KC Streetcar Main Streetcar wins grant from feds.The winter no-tag period is this week. Public Works talks about the completion of Northwest 72nd Street project."

    1. Don't be so cynical. This streetcar is 100 million dollars more expensive and goes more than twice as far as the starter line. It'll even take you past the half a dozen stores still open on the plaza.

  7. It was not called a starter line until the developers, lawyers, trades and other profit centers found out how easy it is to put one over on the taxpayers.

    The extension is supposed to be funded by revenues from the special tax district whose voters (mostly renters, many long gone from there) approved it. We'll see how long our roundheels city council holds out before chipping in general fund money.
