INSIDER: KANSAS CITY E-TAX DETERS NEW ARRIVALS AMID COVID-19 MIGRATION!!!

An important opportunity has passed over Kansas City as the pandemic has sparked an "exodus" from bigger, better cities into smaller and more affordable towns.

To wit . . .

KANSAS CITY'S E-TAX & RAPIDLY RISING COST OF LIVING THWART POTENTIAL PANDEMIC POPULATION GAINS!!!

Here's the word and big picture perspective from one of our most KICK-ASS readers . . .

"The people who imagined Kansas City as an 'international' destination and worked to raise local taxes over the past 10 years have committed another disservice to this community . . . Look around the nation and people are moving out of big cities and fleeing to places with lower taxes and local governments that are friendly to businesses - Sadly, that doesn't include KCMO.

"In order to justify the downtown building spree and so many vanity projects, 12th & Oak raised sales taxes drastically in order to mimic big cities . . . And we still haven't found a viable alternative to the increasingly unpopular E-Tax.

"High taxes and high crime are exactly what people on the move DON'T WANT. KC gave up our biggest advantage: A low cost of living. Missing out on so many people on the move is just one of many ways that this town's regressive taxes are going to hamper economic growth for years."

Bloomberg: "While cost of living, lifestyle, property prices and jobs influence the moves, the cities that are attracting the most people are in states with lower or zero local income tax rates."

  1. Kansas City. Come for the high taxes and stay for the even higher crime!

  3. KCMO has a major issue on its hands. The 1% e-tax, poor schools, high crime and a general perception that Urban policy in the Council screws over the tax base in favor of spending which provides zero good for the overall community.

  4. Look at all the people fleeing Illinois, California and New York for no tax or low tax states. Something had gotta give.

  5. The Entertainment Tax needs to voted down. This just allows City Hall to fund entertainment districts, convention hotels, parking garages and other non essential government expenses without a vote. City Hall has turned it into a slush fund for its cronies and the expense of taxpayers. Vote NO in April.

  6. Instead of trying to provide a livable city for all the plan is to push blacks into suburbs and replace them with young affluent single whites. The problem is not nearly enough affluent single whites to populate a city. And someday the black politicians and grifters will wise up to the fact that their voters are leaving and they will be in fear of losing their power.

  7. The real agenda is to push poor and middle class people out. That is what drives the toy train building, the idea that they will tear down affordable housing and replace it with luxury apartments and condos, paid for the special allocation from the entertainment tax.

  8. The mayor is pushing for an 18% sales tax, that’ll keeper away! Hahahahaha!

  9. Section 8 is turning the entire city into a crime infested shit hole.

  10. The e-tax is essentially a penalty for living or locating a business in Kansas City. We should be encouraging not discouraging new residents and businesses.

  11. If you haven’t noticed, folks are fleeing KC too, I used to think this town was livable, but not anymore, high crime, high taxes and a council who’s only goal is to get re-elected so they can further their own agendas and pet projects!

  12. People choose a metro area to relocate to for a few basic reasons (in this order):

    1. Availability of work (if not a remote worker).

    2. Overall cost of living - KC area still ranks good in this metric

    3. Quality of living - amenities, cultural scene, etc. - KC is losing ground here

    4. Tax burden - KC's 1% e-tax may drive a choice between the city and the suburbs, but it's STATE taxes that play the big part here. MO & KS are middle of the road, with income taxes but lower rates of such.

  13. Jackson County property taxes are outrageous in light of there are no quality services in return. Kansas City sucks as far as entertainment and dining.

BLM and ANTIFA ruined what little there was to offer.

If you work remote; move to a small town with far less taxes, non-existent crime, good water and very little pollution. You know the basics in life.

  14. ^^and yet KC is a fantastic city to live, work, and raise a family. The fact that you don’t like it, only affirms it’s true. Weird.

  15. We also have a high percentage of homosexuals in Kansas City and normal people do not want to be around them.

  16. ^^and you would know Nancy, as you have tried to blow them all so...

  17. The E-tax comes up for a vote soon, and after the recent election, I have absolutely no doubt the "livs" (low information voters) will again shoot themselves in the foot.

North of the river should secede from Mogadishu of the Plains and require special passports to cross the bridges.

  18. 12;55 You did not include "good schools" in your list. If parents, that is a top concern. KC fails miserably.

  19. 2:43 you just like it because you find plenty of cocks to suck. Weird.

Unemployed basement imbecile @2:43 & 2:57 is awake and active. Be prepared for amazing stupidity. Remarks may include such terms as: CHUD, geezer, MAGAT, Trumptard and weird. Often starts with two or more silly ^^ marks. It is strongly recommended one should ignore what he/she/it posts as it may cause brain damage.

  21. The low information voters , as you call them , do exactly what their fat reverends tell them, including how to vote. This will never change

  22. Why does Kansas City exist again?

Oh yeah, some cattle needed a place to take a dump on their way out west.

  23. Make the flicking renters pay their fair share. Property owners shouldn't always have to carry the weight of freeloaders.

  24. Those who live outside KC, but work in KC pay the E-tax and don't get to vote on where it is spent. There is nothing like paying for the privilege of working in Kansas City.
