A white woman who lied about being Black tested my personal bonds-ones with my friends, ones with my community, and ones with my own identity. When I first met her, she was Jess La Bombalera, just another someone on Facebook.
The whole episode makes perfect sense. She wanted what the "Protected Class" wakes up and takes for granted every day.
