After COVID: Renewed Hope To Ramp Up Kansas City East Side Gentrification

A reality check for Kansas City urban and neighborhood leaders is underway.

Property taxes and the free market are going to force a great many people out of their homes in the new year.

To wit . . .

KANSAS CITY REAL ESTATE DEVELOPERS RENEW EAST SIDE TARGETING IN ORDER TO FLIP PROPERTY AT A HEFTY PROFIT!!!

Like it or not, this phenomena is at work throughout the urban core and we've only seen a few token and largely unread newspaper articles dedicated to challenging the trend.

There's only one question that remains constant: Will buyers move East to find housing deals despite nearby violence probs???

For those who are actually familiar with some of the developments, the answer has been a surprising YES. It turns out that affordable housing has been so hard to find in KCMO that white, midddle-class urban explorers are more than willing to cope with police sirens and news of nearby gunfire in order to garner a good deal on a house.

In turn, longtime residents rant against gentrification and street names despite more than a few benefits of hipsters sprucing up the neighborhood.

There's more to discuss but for now we check drone footage of the nicer homes on Beacon Hill which has inspired even more local real estate speculation amid the pandemic.

  3. Whatever you do, don't move north of the River where housing is cheap, neighborhoods are safe and schools are good, it will sicken you to become part of the 1/3 of KCMO's population that pays 2/3 of the City's revenues.

God knows those of us here are sick of that.
