TKC MUST SEE!!! KANSAS CITY CIVIL RIGHTS LEADERS SUCCESSFULLY DISCOURAGE NBA!!! RAPTORS WOULD RATHER PLAY IN TAMPA BAY!!!
Sadly, pro-sports in downtown Kansas City has once again been denied after longstanding promises to bring a big league team inside the loop.
To wit . . .
THE NBA RAPTORS DESIRE A TEMPORARY MOVE TO TAMPA BAY AFTER WARNINGS FROM KANSAS CITY CIVIL RIGHTS LEADERS ABOUT KCPD BRUTALITY!!!
Last month a bold letter to the b-ball commish seemingly advised the team against a KC visit.
The highlights of the note . . .
“There are some issues which supersede fun and economic interests. The protection of Black lives remains our most pressing concern,” was the statement in a letter to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver signed by Gwendolyn Grant, president of the Urban League of Greater Kansas City; Rodney Williams, president of the KC Chapter of the NAACP; and Vernon Howard, president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference of Kansas City.
“Although Kansas City is a great sports city, it is also a city where law enforcement has demonstrated extreme hostility and excessive force towards Black people,” the letter said.
Mainstream media has ignored the disappointment but KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS recently noticed confirmation of the hard pass from the NBA team that was considering this cowtown.
NBC Sports: Raptors reportedly leaning toward playing in Tampa Bay
Money line . . .
"In the meantime, the Tampa Bay area has emerged from several potential destinations as the most likely temporary home for Canada’s only NBA team should it come to that, according to both Raptors and NBA sources."
And so the promise of a pro-level team for Downtown remains unfulfilled. Even worse, a cheap publicity stunt by Mayor Quinton Lucas was rejected and local media has yet to followup on this b-ball rejection.
Developing . . .
This has been a remarkable disservice to kc sloots. What a shame, we could have had an NBA baby boom like no other midwestern city.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot guys, you cost us a lot of grief and don't want to let anybody have a good time.
Sad.
KC doesn't have the money for the NBA. The team would have played to an empty house after three weeks. The small sports market has already been saturated with junk. It's hard enough just supporting the Chiefs.
DeleteCan we get a pro pickle ball team instead?
DeleteWe don't need the NBA here, but I hope those "woke" organizations get their asses sued.
ReplyDeleteNBA in downtown would have brought way too much trouble. Glad they decided to go elsewhere.
ReplyDeleteThey didn't want to change their name to the Cowtown Coons.
ReplyDeleteKansas Shitty stays losing. I wonder if anybody at 12th and Oak has done the math on what the abject stupidity of Q Ball kneeling and mollycoddling the amateur and professional criminal class has cost them. I highly doubt it. They are too myopically focused on abject stupidity.
ReplyDelete"I wonder if anybody at 12th and Oak has done the math on what the abject stupidity of Q Ball kneeling and mollycoddling the amateur and professional criminal class has cost them. I highly doubt it."
DeleteI doubt it too Bendit! Know why? Because no normal person thinks that way.
Take your BLM tax sucking scam to Tampa, KC is woke and broke already.
ReplyDeleteThank God, the last thing kcmo needs is business that generates tax revenue.
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteWhats this bit about Black lives remains our most pressing concern. You know in N Korea they are forced to listen to propaganda. Here in the U.S. people listen to it willingly.
KC so full of racist trailer trash that it doesn't deserve a NBA team. Matter of fact the whole state is full of racists.
ReplyDeleteNah. Your definition of racism is a shallow joke.
DeleteLets see?
ReplyDeleteKansas City or Tampa?
Kansas City or Tampa???
Kansas City or Tampa????
Fuck KC, Tampa here we come. Water and sun along with kick ass beaches beats painted over streets in a city that has a Moron for a Mayor anyday.
Everything ain't closed up or going out of business in Tampa either. Great job Q Ball! This is just a foreshadowing of things to come. Smaller businesses won't be interested either. You gotta make the business climate friendly. Business 101. Maybe you should get your head out of your ass and nose out of the law books a bit more often. Jus' sayin!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I didn't give a flying crap if KC got the team or not. Don't live there. Don't watch. Don't care. Also doubt that any lessons were learned at 12th and Oak. The beatings from businesses will continue until the message is delivered. Get used to being told NO. It's going to happen a lot.
Gwen ought not go getting a big head over this. They went for the more attractive location Didn't have jack shit to do with blm or her stupid, whiny, racist letter.
ReplyDelete^^^
ReplyDeleteBandit. Stop spamming this blog. If you have that much to say, get your own blog.
NBA is overrated. Their ratings are now what they used to be.
ReplyDeleteKC is lucky they decided to go some place else.
^^^^
ReplyDelete+100
Yes.
ReplyDeleteThe Raptors would , for some reasons, rather play in the sunny south of the country instead of in the cold empty confines of downtown KCMO.
What were they thinking about?
Did anyone tell them about THE streetcar, free buses, and the brand new taxpayer-subsidized luxury hotel?
If anyone thinks that the letter that some of the usual suspects wrote played any role whatsoever in this decision, they 're probably the same folks who think that people like Stacy Shaw and Gwen Grant are having any positive impact on neighborhoods east of Troost.
Self-appointed fake celebrities.
Nothing more.
ReplyDeletethe BLM mural "artists" coulda got another gig painting BLM BS all over the court at T-Mobile center ..as apparently an NBA requirement
ReplyDeleteTampa already has kick-ass NFL, MLB and NHL teams..why would the fans there give a fuck about some Toronto NBA outfit?
Good. Cops would have just beaten the team into submission. Much less blood on the street now.
ReplyDeletethat was a choice of weather and ocean access, not letters.
ReplyDelete@8:23 nailed it.
ReplyDeleteKC's b.s. politics don't matter very much to people with real money and power. Sorry.
Great news for us, bad news for that stupid bitch Gwen, she just bit the hand that feeds her. #Defundgwen
ReplyDeletenooooo 8:52 it was the great influence of Urban League KC NAACP and KC SCLC
ReplyDeleteKC is filled with mega influencers, what would the country do without them.
ReplyDeletewhat would canada do without them!
ReplyDeleteMaybe i will move to Florida, doesn't even have state income tax.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Pound sand 8:20. Not paying any more attention to your edicts now than I have the first 1,000 times you've used that crap line this year.
ReplyDeleteKC would have probably sent them letters saying they owe e tax.
ReplyDeleteI bet that was factored into the decision too. That stupid letter is just a fluff distraction.
ReplyDeleteyou think that the minneapolis mayor wasn't damaged by acting like BLM's bitch at a jerry springer show.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.nytimes.com/video/us/politics/100000007178355/minneapolis-mayor-booed-out-of-rally.html
ReplyDeleteOf course responsible person in management of a city bothers to take a look at bugets or numbers. There's an endless pool of money out there that the citizens and businesses have that is just ripe for the taking through legalized theft (aka taxes). Talk to me in three years when Q Ball is out and tell me how that worked for ya k? Where's my salt? 😏🍿
ReplyDeleteSure is a lot of Rednecks on this blog
ReplyDeletenormal people and businesses do think that way 9:43.
ReplyDeleteResponsible people do that 9:58. Greedy dumbasses just take until there is no more. I quit giving a shit about them when they quit giving a shit about the plebes.
ReplyDeleteHey fat ass RevRuns: What we have here is not systemic racism by police but systemic arrest avoidance by black thugs. Deal with it assholes
ReplyDeletelocal leaders are pretty fucking stupid
ReplyDeletethey would have enjoyed the raptors more than anyone but they just can't get the fuck out of their own way
People have to recognize that KC is a good place to live. It's not great, it's not exciting; It's not flashy, it's not showy, it's not arrogant; it'll never have the urban life of bigger cities, etc. Accept it for what it is, and you'll appreciate it much more than you do with your wish-list of must-haves for a small-to-medium city that KC is.
ReplyDeleteBS, 60 years old and KC has continued to try to operate like it was the 1950’s
DeletePerhaps they can scare off other businesses from moving to KC. Next, we'll see complaints about the lack of jobs in the city and there's nothing for young people to do.
ReplyDeleteWhy would the Raptors or any other business move to a place that has an earnings tax when they could move to other cities that don't have one.
ReplyDelete
