An overlooked fact that most Kansas City Democrats want to ignore: Lauren Gepford resigned as the executive director of the Missouri Democratic Party effective Dec. 13.
She stepped down after MISSOURI DEMOCRATS LOST EVERY SINGLE STATEWIDE CONTEST.
And that begs the question: How will Missouri Democrats campaign without Donald Trump as the bad guy?!?!
The answer . . . The statewide brain trust hopes progressives can sneak into power amid conservative infighting and low info voters buying into leftover MAGA hype.
None of that is inspiring for voters who care about healthcare and education.
Still, a feeble theory and other friendly insights are offered in this Democratic Party talking point report disguised as "journalism" but betrayed by an obvious bias for a great deal of bad planning . . .
There's no point trying to spin it: While the 2020 election was a mixed verdict nationally, with Republicans gaining congressional seats and minimizing Senate losses even as Joe Biden defeated President Donald Trump, the Missouri verdict was unequivocal. It hurts to say, but 2020 was a bloodbath for Missouri Democrats.
