Police chokeholds, no-knock warrants spark debate in Missouri House committee

As state lawmakers mull the idea of restricting police use of chokeholds or no-knock warrants, they are facing pushback from law enforcement organizations who contend decisions should be made at the local level. The House Special Committee on Criminal Justice met for three hours on Monday to explore the possibility of passing legislation restricting these practices next year.

  1. Sounds like Lovasco and Dogan need to change parties to the Libs.

When are politicians of both sides going to have honest and public discussions about the core issue. Those wanting no choke holds, no "no knock warrants" won't acknowledge the problem isn't the police, it's the people being policed. It's libs that want to take all tools away from law enforcement to make them unable to do their jobs.

Minorities don't cooperate with the police the majority of the time. They (minorities) refuse to help the police to solve crimes, particularly murders in their communities. BUT, they scream for help when crime happens.

Here's a solution, next time you need help call BLM and see what they can do for you.

The taxpayers have spent trillions of dollars on minority communities and social programs for over 50 years and things have never been worse. Here's some advice to communities of color, while you need someone looking out for your interests vote the right people into office.

Many nay-sayers will suggest that someone like the bimbo in St. Louis (BLM) who was just elected will do nothing. Want proof, look in Washington at people like Sheila Jackson-Lee or Maxine Waters....what have they accomplished.

  2. The KCPD does not and has not used a "choke hold" for close to 50 years. They use the Lateral Vascular Neck Restraint (LVNR) that does not choke but temporarily restricts the flow of blood to the brain. They can restrict the choke hold all they want but the LVNR is not a choke hold. It is very effective and a great alternative to higher levels of force.

    1. The LVNR can very easily become an air choke if applied incorrectly. But so what? The problem isn't the police, the problem is the criminals. Don't break the law, and you can avoid most encounters with the police.
