Nothing Can Stop Kansas City Drinkers?!?!

Functional and not so functional alcoholism accounts for most of the bar biz nowadays and here's a glimpse at the smallish holiday surge that might or might not provide a desperately needed bump . . . And probably a few more COVID cases down the line.

Despite restrictions, crowds expected to flock to KC bars over Thanksgiving holiday

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -- Despite an ongoing pandemic that has killed at least 5,326 Kansans and Missourians, Kansas City area bars are expecting a lot of people out on the town to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. The Wednesday before Thanksgiving - sometimes referred to as Drinksgiving or Blackout Wednesday - is a famously busy day for bars.

  1. Law of unintended consequences is in full effect. The bootleg booze market is through the roof this year if you know where to look.

  2. And why shouldn’t they? This is America and we want to support our local business owners.... and get drunk and chase some of those famous, fat killer city hoes!

  4. This is why the recall the mayor group is full of crap. Regardless of what the mayor's restrictions are, people will still insist on getting together and spreading the virus. If the mayor would side with the bar owners and lift all restrictions, then in a months time, white folks would be blaming the mayor for the deaths because he did not enact restrictions. In other words, he's wrong either way.

  5. ^^^^^^^ @ 1:52 You're about as gullible as a new born baby. Do you know anyone with the virus? Have you had the virus??? Didn't think so. Get a clue as to what is really going on with this virus.

  6. "Do you know anyone with the virus?"

My mother had it. She died from it. Was perfectly healthy. Age 52.

"Get a clue as to what is really going on with this virus."

I hope you get it and die from it so there's one less of people like you.
