Federal Judge Declines Tenants' Request To Halt Eviction Lawsuits

A federal judge has rejected a tenant group's request to order the presiding judge of Jackson County to halt tenant eviction lawsuits. Senior U.S. District Judge Howard Sachs ruled Tuesday that a federal moratorium on tenant evictions does not prohibit landlords from initiating cases against tenants but only their actual removal from their homes.

Weird that illegal eviction have ground to a halt because of disruptions of the illegal hearings.

There's always the danger that tenants are purposefully being unemployed and underemployed just to game the system and not pay rent. No one can expect to live in a rental property for free for very long pandemic or not.

KC Tenants = Mooches that won’t be happy until rent is free so they can spend more money on tattoos and vapes.

Living in a place that you didn't pay for is stealing.

Try paying your rent and see how that works.

Pay up or get the hell out. Landlords have bills to pay too. Ask Q Ball to help you. I hear they are working on Tent City II. There are those of us out here who have worked IN SPITE of all the stupidity and pay our bills. You got what you voted for Kansas City. Enjoy the results of your "efforts." 😏🍿

Judge Sachs is a very left-liberal person. If the ACLU can't get him to agree with their fantasyland interpretation of the CDC rule, they will be SOL everywhere.

ACLU is no longer interested in civil liberties. They have lurched way left and are now no more than a socialist front organization.
